I was doing a fly-through for a client, and after the flight, I noticed that the auto ISO wasn’t smooth, even in relatively easy lighting conditions, and made some jumpy adjustments. Have I did something wrong in the settings? How to avoid it in the future? Is there some way to fix it in the post?

I set auto ISO (max 6400), 1/60 shutter, 30 fps, stabilization off, and used an ND filter 64.

Here is a video showing the issue:

Hi there,

Thank you for reaching out and thank you for your feedback. Although the sensor size of DJI Avata 2 is the same as that of products like DJI Air 3 and Mini 4 Pro, the FOV, aperture, and focal length of the cameras are different. Under a 155° wide FOV, to retain more details, noise in the darker parts will inevitably increase.

I hope this information has helped to clarify your inquiries. If you have any other questions, kindly let us know. Thank You!

Hey mnop,

This is realy annoying. I never noticed that in my flights. I also use auto-iso for the most of my videos. And i do real estate jobs with flying in and outdoors with fast changing lightning conditions.

U can try this plugin. Avaiable for all common video editing platforms.
U will suprise how well this works

This was my first use of Avata for this real estate gig. Before I was using Mini 3 Pro but not so much on auto iso. I don’t know if it was one time thing or maybe there is something wrong with my unit, I will observe it in the future flights. The deflicker don’t really fix the problem because it’s not really a flickering. Maybe I will try to fix it with some exposure keyframing. I’m still curious what was the cause of that.

Yeah i think your device didnt meter the exposure right. Maybe a onetime problem only.
Please give me a feedback if its solved.

Btw, i used your video and put the flicker free-plugin on it. It works perfect. No exposure jumps anymore
Thats why i use this for all my timelapse / videos.

Thanks for letting me know. I tried it in Resolve but I will have a look on the plug-in you recommended.
