The only difference is the side obstacle avoidance. and some functions. like waypoints, etc. but the basics are the same. I am planning to also to upgrade from m3pro to m4pro. But I'm weighing things. if it's reasonable enough.

I'm holding out to upgrade from the Mini 3 Pro to the Mini 5 Pro as there wasn't enough difference for me to upgrade to the Mini 4 Pro as I didn't need waypoints or side obstacle sensors. Hoping the Mini 5 Pro has a larger camera or if I want to dream a dual camera.
I had an Mini3Pro, until this week. I picked up a Mini4Pro a couple of weeks ago. Once I tried the Mini4Pro I knew I would feel like the Mini3Pro is lacking. Waypoints, OcuSync4 and RC2 controller did it for me. I sold the Mini3Pro I did quite well on it.
If you care about the quality and range of communication, resistance to interference in the city, the ability to connect glasses for control, you often fly quite low and avoiding obstacles is important to you, if you know what HLG is, then switch to Mini 4 Pro.
I changed Mini 3 to Mini 4 and did not regret it)

If the MIni 5 came out with a 1" 20MP (same as the Air 2S) that would be the deal for me...
