So here's my problem, I would like to get the GPS remote with the telemetary data for my Action 5, BUT, it appears if I do this then the only way to get the GPS data onto the footage is to download the huge files onto my iPhone and then when this happens, Mimo add's it to the iPhone's photo library (!) and then these huge files start to upload to iCloud and share across all Apple devices! These files are HUGE, all I want it to get them from the camera onto my Mac, either by direct USB-C cable, or by inserting the SD card into the Mac - I can do this only from the footage directly from the camera, BUT if I want the GPS data, it seems I have to use Mimo which involved dowloading to the phone, and then the footages all going to iCloud, using up gigantic amounts of bandwidth and cloud storage - Pretty rediculous for an action camera that if I even buy the GPS remote, the functionality to actually use it is then crippled by this needless downloading/uploading/downloading to the cloud of what could be files that may be even 10GB each - has anyone found a solution to this? Or is GPS functionality only available in this can of worms?

Hi Harrismix,

Could you confirm if you want to add GPS data from DJI GPS remote controller to footage? If yes, you can do it in DJI Mimo App > Dashboard, no need to download or import any huge files. If this is not the issue you are facing please send us a video recording of the problem. This will allow us to investigate further and provide you with the most accurate solution based on the specific issue you're encountering.

We are looking forward to your response for further assistance. Thank You

Thanks for the reply but how can I add the data to the footage without downloading the footage to the Mimo app?

Hi harrismix, you can add GPS data to footage, by linking OA5 with Mimo App > Album > select the footage > Dashboard > select the parameters you want to add > export.  You can add GPS data to your footage without downloading it first. I hope this information has helped to clarify your inquiries. If you have any other questions, kindly let us know. Thank You!

Thanks but when you choose 'export' this means it downloads the footage from the camera to the PHONE, then it automatically adds the footage to the 'photos' app and then immediately begins to upload the very large files to the cloud and then will automatically download it to all devices. Huge files - How can this be stopped from happening please?

Exactly what it did when I used MIMO. Really shame that you cannot export to a computer and that there is no desktop solution for Mac/Windows. Very limited use if you are forced to use phone for adding GPS telemetry to vids.  Not all of us post shorts of 30 seconds on Instagram.

It's a lot to download to the phone if you have say a 20 minute 4K 60P video. One other thing is that I cannot get the Mimo app to see any health data such as heart rate even though health has Mimo 'allow' boxes all ticked.
