Hello, I recently purchased the Osmo Action 5 Pro and have been enjoying using it.
I especially bought the GPS Remote Controller to mount it on my go-kart and analyze lap times. However, I found that the only way to access GPS data is through the DJI Mimo app.
From what I know, other cameras like GoPro and Insta360 allow users to extract GPS and other data from videos, which can then be input into lap timing applications. But it seems that the Osmo Action 5 Pro doesn't support this feature, so I decided to look into it further.
I’ve seen quite a few questions about this topic, but there still doesn't seem to be any news on it. For certain user groups, the ability to extract GPS data could be a key factor in their purchasing decision. Is there still no way to meet this need?

Indeed, I bought the same camera and gps Remote for my track days with motorcycle, and what a dissapointment when you cannot process gps data on desktop computer. I was hesitating between Osmo and GoPro, but did not grasp that DJI does not have any desktop solution and that they are smart phone oriented. I mean OK, but my files are 20GB each and I do not have unlimited memory on my phone nor the battery to process that. Big dissapointment.

Klar es kostet etwas Geld aber sollte brauchbar sein.

Thanks, but how to export GPS data from camera without phone?  With Garmin I had separate GPX file, here nothing? There is a file with LRF extension which is a low resolution file, but nothing else when I export files to computer.

For now only through DJI MIMO app using your phone.  I hoped they would add a telemetry data file that you can transfer with video to a PC,  with the newest firmware update from 26 November, but nothing for now.

First let me say, I love my Action 5 Pro. Fantastic camera!   However, people have been requesting gps and other metadata integration or access that does not rely on the mimo app for utilization for years now, and the canned response is always, Please rest assured that we will forward your feedback to the related department for evaluation.   $80 for a remote to capture gps data, but it can only be used via the mimo app on the phone! That's not cool! People have been requesting a better solution for YEARS now! What is there to "evaluate??"  What is the freaking holdup!?

I see others were also caught out buying the DJI remote expecting it to make the GPS data available in other apps like mapping applications to be ble to locate an follow that same route on another occasion. On the whole I've been happy with my DJI purchases but on this occasion I feel robbed and conned by DJI.

The remote controller supports both single-camera and multi-camera control modes, allowing you to operate up to 16 cameras simultaneously. It is equipped with built-in satellite positioning modules, which provide accurate data recording while in motion. When used with DJI Mimo, you can enrich your videos by adding various collected data, such as speed, route, direction, and elevation. Please take note of the important information below:

1. After the initial pairing between the Osmo Action GPS Bluetooth Remote Controller and the camera, there is no need to pair them again. The remote controller will quickly connect to the camera once powered on.

2. Due to the abnormal GPS coordinates in the photos taken with the Osmo Action GPS Bluetooth remote, the GPS coordinates in images taken with the Osmo Action 4/5 Pro after connecting to the GPS Bluetooth remote are inaccurate.
Reminder: This issue will be addressed through firmware updates, so keep an eye on the official website for release notes.

I think you did no understand the problem.  I expected the GPS data to be available to other applications like mapping applications so the route followed in a video would be accessible to other external applications.  Like you can do with the GoPro.
