A couple decent features there. I always hated having to duplicate the audio on both channels in Davinci in post when using the Mic 2. And I hate the cancel recording feature, so it's great that we can disable that. Now, it would be nice if we could disable or greatly minimize the status messages that appear on screen (battery level, mic connected, etc....).

It is nice to have a new update, I was convinced the Pocket 3 updates had ended.  Hoping for more, though!

Longer shutter speeds for timelapse, display the different camera modes until one is selected.  Hide the tips, add the super slow-mo that the Action 5 has, etc.  For such an amazing camera, it seems they stopped the development of fixes and updates way too soon.

In addition, releasing the D-log M specs so that we can accurately use CST in Davinci Resolve.

Nothing globally new, the community has offered so many cool ideas, at least an increased bitrate. Unfortunately, nothing new. Apparently the new features will be on osmo 4

It's sad, but the truth is that DJI is getting bigger and bigger, so they don't care what you write in the forum, they just pretend! There's no point in writing anything, I see.

I can't see any update? I guess it's rolled out rather than available to all at once?

The first thing I did was turn off that press and hold to delete recording. God I hated that feature so much. It is device to make videos not delete those.

I still don't get it why DJI made gimbal behavior different from others. Using joystick still locks the orientation of the gimbal for few seconds and that is so annoying. All of the other gimbals wont act like this.

Good to see this - especially that 'hold to delete' disaster area finally resolved.

You don't need to duplicate the audio. Just right click on the track you have the Mic 2 audio on and change it to Mono.

Latest firmware:

Peopleaskedabout certain fixes and that was exactly  what they did but ignored the  pop up one. I hope now when you accedetally hold the  record down, you have a reset  and lose  partial video.

DJI really needs to listen to their customer and say they can or cannot correct issues

I followed the advice in post #12, found the update, and it installed fine. Yet to use my P3 to test it out. Thanks to the original OP for this thread.

That said, I must be one of the few who appreciate the hold-to-delete. Often I've set up a shot only to have it ruined (someone walking in front of me, etc), and this feature allowed me to terminate and delete the failed video on the fly and then set it up again. If I couldn't do that I'd have to trawl through my videos at the end of the day to cull the failures and recover space for the next day. I do understand that others may not feel the same way, but then that's the value of DJI having added the option to toggle.

Just wondering, what is so terrible about this feature? Why would you ever press and hold the shutter button during recording, other than to delete it?

Because it can easily happen accidentally, under pressure and the 'countdown' permanent deletion is very short. The simple fact is that at least now there is an option to disable it. For those that like it, it is still there. We now have a choice.

100% agree. It's a feature I actually quite like and I certainly won't be switching it off - appreciate DJI listening and adding the option though ;)

If you are recording and you come up with situation that you have to fast shutdown the camera without thinking you just hold the record button to shut down the camera but it instead just deleted the last 50 minutes of recording own kids in action park........

I agree with you about the very annoying mic message but you can get rid of the  by touching it on the screen.

With one message I don't get too annoyed. But when I have the battery handle attached as well as the mic 2 connected, I will get the message saying how much power is left in the battery handle. I dismiss that and then another message about the mic 2 being connected. I mean, I get it. They want to make sure you know the mic successfully connected. But when you turn it on and want to be able to see the screen and start recording quickly, it's annoying. I'm taking video of my kids a good portion of the time, and if you're not quick, it's pretty easy to miss things.

I've gotten smarter about making sure it's always ready to record by just leaving it on when I can but it would be nice to have more control over the status messages.

So they disabled the ability to turn off the auto-delete feature. Personally, I use it often when making false starts. It's a real time saver. I don't understand why someone would hold the record button if they are already recording...or why they would attempt to shut down the camera  while they are actively recording?

What kind of situation? If there's like an earthquake or something? I mean, it takes one second to stop a recording and then press again to shutdown. Actually, some people record earthquakes too.

No. It is enabled by default. Just as before. If you DON'T want it, however, you can now turn  this feature off. You have a choice. Your preference.

For example kids are pulling you in 4 different directions...

At least I have a life and I do record memories instead of want to delete them easily.

If you have kids pulling you in 4 different directions while you are filming then you need to discipline them better. Anyway, I don't see how that really makes any difference. You push the record button, it stops. Then you can either shut the camera of or just leave it on until you're in a quiet place alone and can turn it off.

FYI, I record a lot of interviews, so false starts and takes at the beginning are not uncommon.

It funny that you don't understand. Autism? Don't care.

But maybe take some self control lesson to avoid accidentally start recordings. This is anyway family / kids toy. Nothing professional.

From the start that who designed recording, deleting and powering the device to the same button is idiot and should never ever design anything anymore. I hope that person is already moved to the cleaner department.

People being interviewed often make flubs. That means we start over. It has nothing to do with my self control or starting accidentally. It's a useful feature for me.

Yes, I really don't understand. A simple, quick press stops the recording, a long press deletes it (that can now be disabled for those who confuse the two).

Best of both worlds, I suppose.

Hi all! Yesterday I installed the latest update for the pocket 3 (support for mic mini etc). I noticed in the changelog improvements to autofocus. But today I noticed autofocus acting funny during video shooting, not... Autofocusing and I had to touch the screen to focus manually many times. Anyone noticed that too? Thanks

I had issues with the previous autofocus performance on the Pocket 3. Had to keep using single shot focus to stop the camera locking on focusing an unwanted object when walking along pointing the lens forward.
Not tested the latest updated autofocus performance yet but will see if it solves the problems I had.

It would have been useful if DJI were more specific in what actual improvements they think they have made to the autofocus.
We have no idea what has been tweaked .
