Nice comparison video.  Both drones have cons.  I'm going to hold out for the Mini 5 Pro.

Me too,    although it looks like Mavic 4 will be the next one.

No doubt you are spot on about that as the Mavic 4 has already cleared the FCC.  Nothing in FCC database about Mini 5 or Mini 5 Pro yet.

Last I saw on DroneXL was a summer 2025 release date so probably a bit early for FCC registration

Yeah, for a mid to late summer release it is way too soon for a run through the FCC on the Mini 5 Pro.  However, with a ban still looming it might behoove them to run it through the FCC as soon as possible.

So would the ban be for any new products getting registered or would it be anything already on the list dropped too.

That has been discussed recently.  If the reason for the ban is for national security then the thought process is that all drones to include those currently in existence would have to be grounded.  That poses the question would the ban require the federal government to purchase drones off the owners or confiscate them which brings up even more issues.  Originally, the elected officials were not considering the leak of information from those drones already here but the FCC has reported that if a ban goes into existence it would negate the FCC approval which means all drones would then be grounded as they couldn't use the radio signal for connectivity that had originally been approved.

And that would include all the non drone products on the FCC list too?

If the FCC pushes the ban it would most probably include all DJI products that use radio signals for connectivity.  In other words if they had to have FCC approval originally they will be effected.  Of course, this is only if a ban becomes effective.  Look at how much it effected Huawei's bottom line when they got banned.  Nobody can predict what Trump's agenda is or what it could morph into and with his party in control of both the House of Representatives and the Senate he is definitely in the driver's seat.

I certainly hope it works out fine.  He's already got the leaders of Panama, Mexico, Canada and Denmark riled up.
