I just found out my NEO has a Sport mode.
However, the maximum speed I can set it to is 28.8 km/h.
I have seen youtube posts of people going way faster in sport mode using the N3 Goggles and Motion controller 3.
Am I missing something here?

Hi there, thank you for reaching out. Kindly take note that the max horizontal speed of Sport Mode is higher than that of Normal Mode. It utilizes GNSS module and Downward Vision System to realize hovering precisely. The operating agility of DJI Neo will be adjusted. The max horizontal speed will be increased to 8 m/s, and the max vertical speed will be 3 m/s.

Thank you for your understanding.

I think they are using the FPV controller in manual mode to get faster than 8m per second

Thanks for your reply.
All you said is true regarding the positioning system, but none of it answers my question.

Maybe I have not explained my problem very well...
I have seen a video  of someone adjusting the speed of his NEO to 57.6 km/h (16 m/s), using the N3 goggles and the Motion controller 3.
However, I can't go past 28.8 km/h. (8 m/s)

you'll see that it is definitely the motion controller.

I think the guy in the video link is flying an Avata2 not a Neo.

Yes.  Manual mode with the FPV RC3 the spec is 16m/sec or ~35mph.  More than fast enough if flying in tight areas or off the deck. Top speed in calm conditions in manual mode flying the Neo is similar to S mode top speed flying the Avata2.

As having posted in other threads.  Hope that DJI releases the next gen DJI FPV, but similar sized to the Neo and sub 250gm with more capacity and power.  Avata2 speeds would be more than enough.  Unless ~60mph / 97km/hr is too slow for your needs.  Added mass might make that quad less of a "kite" than the Neo in windy conditions.

Lost in translation.
DJI Neo specs:

Manual mode only possible using the DJI FPV RC3.
Manual mode (aka rate mode) requires a different and higher level of stick skills.

The main downside of Neo is speed and the downside of Avata 2 is the mass that exceed 250g, and so then Avata 2 is rated as C1, what mean the drone is transmitting the Drone ID.

Maybe the next if ever DJI FPV.  Neo size, sub-250, robust frame similar to the Neo,  more powerful motors and larger battery (capacity and voltage) for immersive FPV flying.

Delete the autonomous selfie hardware and software of the Neo.  Plenty of other video biased DJI platforms for that segment of the DJI user market  Neo and Avata2 are sort of it for those mainly interested in immersive FPV.  The Neo's lower quality downward IR/visual sensors and camera system is adequate for outdoors use.  Better quality GPS module would be appreciated.  The lower satellites acquired and significant fluctuations in locked number of satellites relative to the Avata2 is concerning.

I agree somthing between the Neo and Avata 2 without all that selfi stuff. Just a 200 g pocket rocket

We just nee the sub250 avata.

RemoteID is a dealbreaker for now. I have  also avata 2, but finally i am not using that because i do not want to any prick around knows where i live or stand.

No idea of the range of transmission of the remote ID module on the Avata2.

Do have a FAA approved stand alone module.  Seems to have limited range.  At least for people with the android phone app that can track you.  Guessing commerical/government tracking hardware is better sensitivity. People in this rural region either can care less about who is flying a drone or the other extreme.  The ones that shoot down drones not realizing they are committing a felony.
