Hello All, I've noticed strange lines in the Goggles 3 that i'm pretty sure are caused by the DJI OSD layer. Its like a subtle ghost line that seems to line up with the recording timer and red dot. Can only see in the goggles (not when looking on phone or monitor) and only really on overcast days. To test i tried turning off OSD recording and when i do the lines are gone. Its very hard to try and capture this but i did get this image by recording the goggles screen with my phone. Has anyone else seen this?

Hi! its lined up with the recording timer, as mentioned its really hard to capture.
Did some more testing yesterday with a friend who also has Goggles 3 and we've narrowed it down to 4:3. Both our goggles show the same shadowy lines that line up with the DJI OSD, more speceficly where it crosses over into the black border. If you use 16:9 the lines are not there. What makes these stand out is the fact they are static against a moving image. so although subtle in that still image its more than noticeable while flying. I can try and capture another image or upload a DVR that can be placed on any G3's for people to see the issue.

I've added lines to highlight the area, its subtle in a still image but not so much when in flight. As mentioned this happens on multiple G3s and only in 4:3 where the DJI OSD elements cross over into the black borders. not noticeable during sunny days but very noticeable during overcast days (like most here in the UK) can also see the same lines along the bottom matching with the other DJI OSD elements.
Have also flown at a few different spots all with the same issue. can see it against the sky or grass.

Hi, there.
Thanks for your patience.
After confirming with the relevant team, it is suspected that the black lines are generated by the flickering PWM of the OLED screen of Goggles 3 itself because it is cloudy and the brightness is not high.
Please try to increase the brightness of the Goggles screen and check if the problem persists.
If it does, can you provide a video to show the problem? It seems you have more than one Goggles, you can turn on the broadcast mode and fly with Goggles A, Goggles B is put aside and shoot it with the camera, so that it can be captured.
You can provide a video + Goggles Log + when the problem occurred, save it through a shareable link like Google Drive and DropBox, then send the link here.
We will check this further for you.

Hi!

I only have the 1 pair of goggles myself, i've tried changing the brightness and it makes little to no difference, if anything it makes it worse. I can also see these lines (alot more subtly) when its not overcast sky. When i was flying with a friend we did try broadcast mode and could both see the lines, i'm still pretty convinced its something to do with the DJI OSD Layer. i have lots of goggle DVR showing the issue. As mentioned before it only appears when viewing in the goggles. I'll try and pull the logs and upload some today.

Thanks again!

Not sure how i can find logs but here is a DVR with the issue, you can see it from both the top and bottom DJI OSD elements

Hi, there
After checking the video you provided, we did not find the strange line occurred.
May we confirm with you these following information:
1. will this strange line be present in the Air Unit video?
2. will this strange line be present in the video recording of the Goggles 3?
3. if 1 and 2 are both not, the strange line can only be seen on the screen of the Goggles, right? Is it visible to your eye or only to the screen of the Goggles with the camera?
Look forward to your reply.

Hi, there
After checking the video you provided, we did not find the strange line occurred.
May we confirm with you these following information:

Hi Wanda,

1: nope, air unit videos are fine
2: nope its not in any recordings
3: its only in the goggles and only in 4:3, its where the DJI OSD elements hang over into the black bars either side. It can be seen with the eyes or when filming the goggles screens.

This has happened on 2 different sets of goggles and multiple air units. not just myself whos seen this too.

its 100% due to the OSD going over to the black bars. If there is a way the OSD can be moved to match 4:3 it would resolve this issue.

As mentioned it is really subtle however when the lines are static on screen and you are flying it becomes noticeable.
