I had a crash the other day and the only damage appeared to be a torn part 49 gimbal ribbon cable.  I tried to replace it with a new one, but now the gimbal is out of control and I get a gimbal motor overload error message.  Anyone have any ideas?  Did I do something wrong?

Gimbal overload message occurs when the gimbal clamp is not removed.  
Are you sure nothing is obstructing the camera when you turn on the P3....it will usually spin in a circle and rotate on part of its axis while it makes the startup tone.
What happens when you start it up....I mean physically.

Nothing is blocking it, it rotates freely in all the right directions but it moves extremely fast and without control or direction.  The gimbal will also not calibrate.

Yeah.....I figured there were other ways it could happen, but I have never had that error message unless there was a physical restriction on the camera or gimbal.
