I would like to be able to lock the P3 to a given speed, and gain control of it at will.  I think this would a great option to have.  When I had my P2, I didn't have to worry about locking its speed, because it wasn't that.fast.  But the P3 is pretty powerful, thus, it accelerates very quickly.   Last week, I videoed a canoe race across a lake, and it was very hard to manually stabilize the speed. So, I wou likel to see this option in future update

I agree, I found it hard too to fly manually at constant slower speeds. So much more zippy than a P2....  I need to dig a bit deeper in the settings, I think there are way to adjust some the commands response.

You can adjust gain and braking, both will change behavior.

Gain changes the sensitivity around mid stick to finer, and braking will slow down how fast the MR slows down.

Experiment with these settings.

Also in waypoint mode and POI mode you can  set a constant speed and change it as well.

Also try to use Atti instead of GPS mode. I find Atti is often easier to control smoother.
I find the absolutly smoothest flying is just drifting with the wind.
