Next, gimbal operation is juttery if i have it set in Naza mode and camera will tilt upwards so is almost facing the under carriage, if i put in phantom mode camera gimbal is very smooth but won't tilt upwards to under carriage, is this normal operation?

Did you calibrate the gimbal? Actually move it through its range while doing so??

1. Try to adjust the gimbal's 'tilt control gain'.
2. 'won't tilt to carriage' you mean the gimbal won't move with your RC wheel or app?

Hi DJI-Dboy, the gimbal moves very smoothly in phantom mode and the camera stays in the same position when you release gimbal wheel, in Naza mode the gimbal seems to stutter back and forth before going in the direction you want it to go in and when you release gimbal wheel the camera always returns to forward facing position and the camera movement is more like 180 degrees in Naza where its more like 90 degrees of movement in Phantom mode.
To Calibrate the transmitter, is it best in PT2 (version 3.8) or RC (version 1.2) as both seem able to do the calibration ?

After changing from Phantom to NAZA I would calibrate both, first in the RC making sure you select the upgraded transmitter, then the PT2.
Also when you have the phantom connected make sure all firmware is up to date.

all firmware upto date and have reinstalled to make sure, upgraded transmitter was ticked from the start will try again tomorrow
