Hi All,

I've read here (can't find it though), that one can repalce the 1080 camera on a P3A with a 4K camera, resulting in a P3P (minus the 100W charger).

Can anyone point me to instructions on all that needs to be done to do this conversion?

Beyond cables, etc., what about firmware?

This P3A works now (mostly - have not had a lost signal in a while).

I need more pixels, hence the camera upgrade.

i plan on doing the same thing very soon. reason behind it for me: so i can try out FPV goggles.

Camera ordered, finally arrived (grr UPS) and now installed

Installed latest P3P firmware and that seemed (emphasis on seemed) to go ok.

Connected ipad to Internet, upgraded firmware on RC as instructed. Not sure how to find out version of FW on RC, anyone?

Now when I reboot everything, the DJI Go app (version 2.1.0) says the aircraft needs upgrading. Why is that? It just got the latest FW.

Can anyone tell me if I did anything wrong, or need to do something else?

UPDATE: after rebooting both craft and RC yet again, no request to update anything appears. The DJI mystery continues....

It is dark and I cannot fly it now. But will try tomorrow if time permits.

Have a P3A I bought directly from DJI. It has been working fine. No lost signal issues like I had with the P3P I returned to dealer.

I wanted more pixels so I bought 4K camera.

Camera was replaced, no issues.

Upgraded firmware to 1.4.10 P3P version, no issues.

First flight after upgrade, no issues. Landed, swapped in battery #2 for another flight.

After about 2 minutes, at a distance of over 1 mile, all camera parameters went to N/A. Then screen went black on my ipad 2.
Screen went on and off the entire time I flew it back to base, having lost the ability to record an image or video (which is the sole reason for spending all this money).
This is exact issue I had with the P3P I bought from B&H and returned to B&H after many. many upgrades, downgrades ,SD cards etc.

SD card for this flight is a Sandisk 64 GB Extreme Pro

sigh.

Replace SD Card with  Lexar 64 GB 633 and return to fly next day.

Two flights with no issues.

Can an SD card cause the screen to black out and the camera parameters to go to N/A?

Is it a temperature thing? Too hot?

I am ready to return this thing to DJI and spend my time on other activities.

Seeing them tout the next gee whiz toys before they have their current gee whiz toy working is more than a little annoying.
Are you listening DJI?

Any ideas?
