The controller won't update, how do you do it? USB does nothing and the app won't let me update.

But the app won't let you update b/c the firmware is 1.3.  Where is the option.  They are the most unreliable company I have ever come across.

Maybe my little moment of grief is helpful? (TL;DR? Maybe updating the RC firmware to 1.3 (again) helps?)
Can you post the version numbers you get when running the DJI app in the 'About' menu?

Thanks Paul, I am trying to update the Inspire 1 Firmware v1.4.0.10. Funny thing is the logs say I have up to date firmware???  By the App says the firmware is before 1.3 and won't let me update. BTW, I am trying to update the 2nd controller that I have.

agbu, you are a god send. That finally worked.

Could someone from DJI put this in the Firmware upgrade manual?

Glad you got it working and good to know I am not the only one that got stumped by this weird firmware behavior. Hopefully now that everything goes through the app things will work better?

I don't have my hopes up, they need a stand alone device IMO that won't be affected by OS updates etc.
