toy.... must be ok to play with, but for the video shooting you would need something more serious
hi Tim, thanks for your reply. What do you mean with 'more serious' ? This is a 4K flying camera with the smallest gimbal in the world and has lot of cool features that they talked about ( i know talkng is easy) Also its not dangerous to fly next to people like phantom and inspire.

Sure, as long as they are still around. Crowdfunding is a huge gamble, no guarantees at all.
How ...
I had one and i sold it. Too dangerous to fly next to people and that will be my main porpuse to use it. Also i travel from time to time and i wanted something light to take it with me and to fly it easy

More serious = Existing
proven
capable of great distances and heights
capable of wind resistance
proven capability of camera and gimbal
from a manufacturer with a track record.
etc. etc.
So far there is not a single revolutionary crowdfunded model that delivered (quality). Not one.
Maybe vantage will be the first....but it's always a long shot. I'm not suggesting it's a scam - more like a 1 in 10 possibility of getting something which is up to the standards you seem to be holding it to.
Thank you droneflyers.com for your help. I did my research and for some reason I trust Vantage robotics and I feel they will do a great product ( cross fingers ). I have 30 days money back guaranteed if I didn't like it after they sent it to me so I will update you guys with what I think .
I hope you get it - or at least your money back if it doesn't work out.
This one went belly up last week - and a bunch of the others did also (or are on the way).
I "trust" many of the companies - that they truly are serious and would like to succeed. However, actually making something like this is MUCH harder than people think. That is the core problem.
It's like if a local garage-based company was trying to create the next business jet.....complicated stuff. They might have great skills and great intentions but that's not enough.
One problem is that even if any of these companies deliver...it's then an entirely different matter as to whether they are going to have a continuing company in the future - that is, parts, warranty, updates, etc.
As long as you don't spend any money that you could not afford to lose...then it's no different than the stock market or casino. What I don't like to see is people spending their last $$$ on this stuff or relying on it to actually use in their business or hobby. Some of the stuff is over a year behind the original stated delivery date(s).
The design is cool, but if you want my opinion, it looks kind of flimsy...like one crash and you'd be buying a new one. The idea is great though - a drone that you can fold up and basically put in your pocket!! I am always leery of things that require a "smartphone" for the RC controls. You know they're testing them with iphone 6 and Galaxy S6...but the people who buy them and try to use them with a cheap Huwawei or ZTE MetroPCS phone may have completely different results due to the cheap phone...
Thank you droneflyers.com. I read your article before during my research, it was really helpful. I checked lot of companies, but I never felt like I trusted any of them like vantage robotics. I didn't like plexidrone , flybi, lily... specially lily as I really can't understand how people pay $1000 for this toy.
Also vantage robotics already released testing models and they shared some videos with the press (below).
most of the other companies have only the marketing video that they put on the home page of thier websites.
Last thing, I contacted vantage robotics lot of times for questions and they answered back very fast with all the details that I needed.
Also they started to update us (people who pre-order snap) every couple of weeks with the progress and the news. like last time they sent us the details about the gimbal that they added to snap, its really an invention: https://vantagerobotics.com/blog
of course DJI is the leader, but they didn't start as a leader over night, Frank Wang started in an apartment and over years they became leaders and still people enjoy thier 1st products till now.
I didn't like DJI customer service and I was looking for a safer drone to fly it next to people, that's why I pre-order snap.
This is not my 1st time to pre-order a product, from 2 years ago, I was looking to get an educational game to my 3 years old daugther and I heard about "https://www.playosmo.com/"
I read about them alot and I trusted them and I pre-ordered osmo for half price. my daugther enjoy it till now and they keep updating the tool with new games.
anyways, there are always a risk. but I am secured also with my credit card.
make sense. I agree with you. anyways, I have iphone 6 and I am planing to use a game controller, so I am not worry about that. but I really would prefer to have a controller like the one of DJI phantom 3.
