Oh, looks like DJI have a new firmware out now for the Osmo - v1.2.1.60
NOTE: The DJI GO App prompts you to update so you can do it all via the App. Connect to the internet to download then to the Osmo to update..

I have after the upgrade to firmware v1.2.1.60 still the problem with the fan sound
Where can you find a list of what has changed with this upgrade ?


Edite: See now the replay from iamgrantbrown  So I understand that there is no solution, while this is a downgrade in stead of a upgrade

Done the update and what I noticed is this..

Version in the App still shows the v1.0.1.19+ ( before 1.1.1.50 it was v1.0.1.19 ).. Although DJI in their release statement say its a downgrade to the original factory firmware for those with issues. Hard to say what happens to be honest.

I have tried updating, and am getting multiple issues.

Firstly... i am still unable to record 4K cinema resolution... still crashes both the app and the the gimbal
Second .... when going into check version via the app, tells me  v1.0.1.19+
Thirdly .... the update took less 3 minutes, nowhere near the 20 stated (yes, the LED blinked red and green during)

1.1.1.50 firmware supposingly fixes the Cinema 4K recording issues. However, it causes stability and drift issue.

Thew 'new' 1.2.1.60 firmware actually restores the Osmo back to the factory firmware. I might do this as I don't record in Cinema 4K and didn't have any notable issues with the factory firmware

We have stated this in the release note. If you can use the factory setting normally, you can choose not to upgrade. We will fix the 4K BUG in the next verison firmware at the end of the month.

I updated to the new firmware today and it made it worse? All the issues are present like gimbal control not working properly, selfie and re-entering does not work. I have to put the Osmo in sleep mode and then when it starts up, then it works. Also having issues with  4k 4096 it crashes and closes the app..

Not yet. Next firmware will be available soon ( no exact ETA ). - There needs to be an update for the Inspire's X3 as well as the Osmo Handle to make them work together.

The 4k issue will be resolved in the next firmware ( and the other issues ). This firmware is a downgrade really as the 1.1.1.50 was a total lemon of a firmware

I have up/(down) graded to 1.0.1.19+ as recommended, but the video camera is totally un-useable. On pressing record, the screen freezes, goes to a blue screen for a moment and then closes out of record mode. Also playing or deleting files just displays a 'Wait for it " pinwheel. Is this the issue with this firmware? I have tried for days and haven't successfully shot a single shot.

Never mind, Togglling between video res modes seems to have fixed the problem, I hope this helps somebody else

Just received Osmo today. Could not connect to Android. After calling support, they said to install newest firmware and update app. Major lag issues when recording video on screen. Dragged video into Premiere to see if it was just my phone and same issues with the actual recorded video. Not impressed. Any suggestions?

1) Please make sure there is no other wifi interference signal. Please try to use 5.8G band if your mobile device can support it.
2) Please try to clear the video cache  : DJI GO->ME->Settings    Or Enter Camera view->Settings->General ->Clear Video Cache   And turn off the video cache function. Enable the Hardware Decode.
3) Please try to re-install the app.

About the original files in the SD card. Have you detected any abnormal things? If so, please upload the original files to MEGA or dropbox. Thanks.

I purchased a DJI Osmo 2 weeks ago and everything thing seemed to work ok when I turned it on a connected to my iPhone 6s and iPad Air via the DJI Go app. My black screen issue started when I did a firmware upgrade/downgrade. The camera can still shoot both photos and video and I can control the settings via my smart phone, the only thing is it doesn't stream video to my mobile device. If I record video and play back then everything works fine. Every now and then I would get streaming, but it lagged. After the latest DJI Go app update I no longer get video streaming and just have a black screen. I have cleared the video cache, etc but nothing helps.
This is very frustrating indeed. Any idea when the new firmware will be released?

About the black screen, please try the following methods:

2) Please try to delete the app and re-install the new v2.4.3 app.
3) Try to take out the micro SD card of Osmo and insert the original SD card.
4) Try to change to 5.8G band. About the upgrade, try to upgrade using the micro SD card. Try to upgrade to the v1.2.1.60.(1.0.1.19+ in the app)
If the problem persist, please provide a screen shot of DJI GO app camera view.  Thanks.
About the firmware, it will come soon. The R&D team is concentrating on revising and testing the firmware day and night and the firmware is during the final test period. We all want to solve this problem and liberate all the abilities of Osmo as soon as possible. Your patience during this long waiting period is highly appreciated.

I’ve done some test with both frequencies and none work if I have my wifi router on at home. As soon as I turn off my wifi router and just have the Osmo wifi on, then it functions correctly. These days we are surrounded by wifi signals, so it will interfere with the camera,  hopefully  these little things will be resolved in the new firmware upgrades.
The video streaming lags a bit too.
I have the latest app and firmware on the camera and phone.

I've been shooting on the OSMO for about a month now with few problems...then yesterday, I was prompted to download the new firmware via DJI GO. Upon download my OSMO gimbal will not operate. A bit jerking and "limp". DJI GO request I unlock the gimbal which was already unlocked. The gimbal refuses to calibrate. I then attempted to re-upload the OSMO Firmware v1.4.1.80 via the micro SD card. Just getting solid green light and the beep. Doesn't seem to acknowledge the firmware and/or the system will not "see" my gimbal as being unlocked. Any ideas?

Turns out I had to send my OSMO to DJI for repair.They were very quick and got the unit back within 2 weeks....works great now!  The firmware loaded correctly after a second try but the gimbal must have gotten out of line somehow. Still not sure what happened!

Sorry for the late reply since I just returned from the Chinese lunar year. What firmware and app version do you use? Could you please provide more details about your problem, any pictures or videos would be of great help.
