Do members know that putting CF props on their Inspire voids the warranty......
Sally Chen (DJI)

Dear Steven,
Thank you for your email.
For non DJI propellers to use with the Inspire 1, the inspire 1 will NOT cover in warranty if any incident caused....
So Guys
Stick with the plastic they are better and you keep your warranty....

Nice try from Sally however I would not believe her too much. She couldnt solve my problem which was wanted to test firmware 1.05.00.11 as it clearly says
"Once the firmware is updated, the current version 1.05.0011 could only be rolled back to the 1.04.0010(latest public firmware)" but the rollback does not work like advertised and I am stuck now with unwanted camera and ESC fw versions. I often had to write the same text again just not to get an completely odd answer which shown that she didnt really read what I have written. But the problem has not been solved anyway I was suggested to send my camera for repair instead.

Now to your statement:

Maybe in China but nowhere else and I am even not sure about China. You should research Australian legislation. The ONLY case where it voids warranty is if the accident or failure is in direct connection with the use of 3rd party carbon props.

Europe:
For those in Europe: An explicit or implicit ‘warranty tie’ by a manufacturer would amount to illegal tying under Art 101 of the TFEU (European Treaty), and equivalent laws in each Member State, where:
i. There is a brand-specific aftermarket for replacement parts for that products; the manufacturer has a high share of supply in that market and is illegally seeking to protect that position by dissuading ‘captive’ customers of its primary products from sourcing more cost-effective, quality product from anyone else; and / or
ii. Even if there is a broader aftermarket for supply and replacement, if the cumulative affect of practices adopted by the manufacturer meant that third-party suppliers of replacement components and businesses specialising in fitting such components find it difficult to penetrate the market.

USA:
In legal terms, this type of ploy is referred to as a "tie-in sales provision." In general, such provisions are illegal. They are specifically prohibited in the consumer market by section 102(c) of the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act of 1975 (15 United States Code section 2302(c)).
"The essential characteristic of an invalid tying arrangement lies in the seller's exploitation of its control over the tying product to force the buyer into the purchase of a tied product sold by the system manufacturer that the buyer either did not want at all, or might have preferred to purchase elsewhere on different terms. When such "forcing" is present, competition on the merits in the market for the product is restrained and the Sherman Act is violated."
Jefferson Parish Hospital District No. 2 v. Hyde, 466 U.S. 2 (1984).

Australia? You must search yourself.

PS: In any country where DJI promotes direct sales the consumer laws of this country and not China are applicable as well is the place of court.

Almost any known manufacturer adopted actual legislation which sound like this (example Cisco)

Cisco Guideline:
Third Party Components Support

The Cisco guideline for support and warranty services for the use of third-party memory, cables, gigabit interface controllers (GBICs), filters, or other non-Cisco components is as follows:

When a customer reports a product fault or defect and Cisco believes the fault or defect can be traced to the use of third-party memory products, cables, GBIC's, filters, or other non-Cisco components by a customer or reseller, then, at Cisco's discretion, Cisco may withhold support under warranty or a Cisco support program such as SMARTnet™ service.

When a product fault or defect occurs in the network, and Cisco concludes that the fault or defect is not attributable to the use of third-party memory, cables, GBICs, filters, or other non-Cisco components installed by a customer or reseller, Cisco will continue to provide support for the affected product under warranty or covered by a Cisco support program.
The nature of the defect or error is the key to determining Cisco support obligations.

As its about the props I should add that I did NOT get any advantage from using T-Motor CF props and went back to DJI QR props. I did not experience lower noise, I did not have any more flight time, I did not get more speed (probably firmware restricted), what I did get is MORE VIBRATIONS which seem have been part of my jello problem in connection with fw 1.05.

I think DJI uses plastic props not to save the carbon fiber but because totally stiff props spoil the flight experience. However DJI does not communicate this very good.

I dont believe any reports of people claiming after the use of T-Motor props and some black market wonder-mounts they experience any increase in flight time or lower noise or some other benefit. It seems that the common little play of the plastic props is much better for the Inspire.

Actually this has been echoed many times in the forums by folks from DJI and I have to agree with them. It is like anything else that carries a warranty. One cannot expect any company to warranty someone else product(s). DJI offers carbon fiber reinforced props for the Phantoms. Being reinforced with CF will strengthen the prop and still allow the essential flex that is provided from the plastic.

Hi , Steven
It's not the Carbon Fiber Props that void the warranty . We can't offer you a warranty because the accident happened with third party propellers used !

I hope these are the ticket numbers I dont see any other numbers. I reopend the case as the final answerThe camera and ESC FW can not be rolled back, but this does not affect the normal functions.  did not really satisfy me.

This was my original input:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have the following problem. Wanted to test firmware 1.05.00.11 as it clearly says

"Once the firmware is updated, the current version 1.05.0011 could only be rolled back to the 1.04.0010(latest public firmware)"

but the rollback does not work like advertised and I am stuck now with unwanted camera and ESC fw versions.

red = fw not rolled back

I want the clear Fw 1.04.00.10 installed again I think I have many issues with ESC 1.11 which I do not like.

Please provide me the necessary files that I can roll back to 1.04.00.10 like advertised.
(I need a file which resets m100, 101, 1200, 1201, 1202, 1203 so it will accept 1.04.00.10 again.)

Support chat could not solve the issue and asked me to write you this email.

Greetings

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The background is that ESC 01.11 removed wind compensation, completely changed how expo settings work as result it directly effects speed now, creates more unsmooth flying and increases jello effects. I also think the camera fw 1.22 has some flickering problems. Yes there may be also other reasons for my problems (I already changed dumpers, propellers, even bought X5 vibration plate which brought no advantage) but before Oct 4th with Fw 1.04.00.10 I didnt experience this and after installing 1.05.00.11 I immediately realized a heavy change. I was discussing this 6 weeks with support got excuses, some things like the expo speed change completely ignored, I got the known reset file from other support (which does not work here because it can only reset damaged fw parts).

Finally I was asked to send my camera to DJI for repair or exchange it at my dealer (which has no stock of it) as DJI will not send me a camera for exchange.

I just refuse to send my camera somewhere for weeks when I think the problem can be solved restoring 1.04.00.10 firmware and I would have never installed 01.05.00.11 firmware if it would not have been promised  "Once the firmware is updated, the current version 1.05.0011 could only be rolled back to the 1.04.0010(latest public firmware)"  . I would not complain if it instead told me correctly can be rolled back to 1.04.00.10 BUT ESC and camera fw will not be rolled back but then I would have never installed it.

But DJI would NEVER be able to prove this (unless the props were in shot) so it s a bit pointless and moot.

There is nothing in any flight log that would determine the compound structure of the props!

The 1.05.00.11 is SDK firmware needed for Ultimate Flight and Litchi (3rd party apps).

Thanks for your reply Patrick... i dont use CF props ( dont like them)... overrated and a waste of money in my view ... my post was a heads up for those that do... and to point out why it is important to have flexibility in the props....
