Nicely returning home, then taking over control. Some wind and it starts going away in a straight line till it crashed in the sea at the end of battery life.
Not responding to controls anymore.

3 month old phantom 3 professional.

Any ideas on how this is possible!

Does this help?

Getting strange response when it was close to landing. Was almost there and took of. From the moment it starts the straight line I lost control complete. In the flight data it jumps there from the start of the line to the end and jumps over the time in between

From the flight record, it's hard to find the reason, the most possible reason can be compass interference , you need to contact our technical support and they will help you arrange a ticket. You can attach this forum post link in the email and thus their processing speed can be improved.  By the way, your account is wim.berends68@gmail.com.

The result however is very disappointing. I have been offered a 20% discount.
The device clearly malfunctions and takes of in its own. Costing me 80% of a one month old Drone.

I have gotten perfect service from you on this forum but the after sales service is so disappointing that it makes me question whether I should get another dji.

I basically had the same comical offer when my battery dropped rapidly and my I1 landed in the ocean. Dji offered me a refurbished I1 at a cost of $1948.  Good luck.

I have been in touch with dji support for 2 months now. I made a normal flight with my phantom 3 professional until it took of in one straight line over the ocean. Over 2 minutes in a straight line away from me, no controls visible in the flight data. It dropped in the ocean at empty battery.

Dji analyzed the flight data and concludes that the Drone was functioning perfectly fine.  Why would I fly my Drone away from me over water when it was already in auto return? Why didn't  the flight data record controls over 2 minutes?

Conclusion is that the drone was perfectly fine. They are willing to refund 25%.......

One month old, with SD card usd 1300. Loosing 75% of that. Dji was in my opinion in the same league as apple. Perfect products, when something fails it is replaced.
The truth is bitter, policy is denial that it is the product that malfunctions to avoid costs. Dji can keep its 25%, I am not risking loosing usd 1000 because of a malfunctioning product.

PM me when something similar happened to you, we might be able to join (legal) forces.

Newest argument of DJI is "last control registered was in that direction so the drone functioned as expected".........
That there was no registration of controls over 2 minutes (gap in the flight data) is not taken into consideration.
There is a clear policy of not refunding obvious malfunctioning devices.
