I bought the P3 Standard to take still shots of roofs, gutters, chimneys, etc.
Do I really need tio use GPS for this?

If I don't use GPS, do I need to calibrate the compass all the time?

Whether you use GPS or not, it is built into the aircraft, the only issue is whether you want it on the device attached to your Remote Control unit. It is not essential to have a GPS function on the tablet/phone, especially if you are using the aircraft for such a simple task.

As for calibrating the compass, yes, that is essential the first time you fly, but you do not need to do it every time you fly. Once should be enough as long as you fly in the same area, or within a 100 miles or so of that area. Some people calibrate the compass every time they fly, but it is not necessary at all.

Hi ,
If you need to take photos , you may need the GPS to make your aircraft hovering . Compass calibration are needed when you change your flight space .
