I've successfully upgraded my P3 Pro at least two or three times since i bought it in June but tonight is my first failed upgrade.  I tried to upgrade to P3X_FW_V01.05.0030.bin file and it failed.  I tried several times to no avail.  The first time it ran thru the upgrade process for at least ten minutes before the solid red light.  each time since then, it's failed within 30 seconds.  I even tried to put the v1.04.0010 file back on, but that failed also.

Here is some of the text on the Result_AB file starting with the last time i booted it up on the old version.  I tried to upgrade to 05.0030 several times and then back to the 4 again

I suppose I could do that, but I'm not sure it will help.  It's the same micro sd card I've used from the beginning and it's been thru a couple of upgrades before with no problem.   

Any other ideas?

That's weird, it shows that it sees the new firmware but doesn't finish. Di you try reformatting the card to see if it helps.  And then try a different card. If those don't work then maybe you have to call customer service.

I used a different card.  I reformatted it first and then put the 1.05.0300 update on it.  Same thing.  After about 20 or 30 seconds, solid red gimble light and that annoying sound...  

Any other ideas?

Mine took over 20 minutes to update but the light was alternating red and green.

Mine was solid red after 20 seconds.   

I checked the about page in the DJI Go app and this is what it says.   
App   2.4.2
Remote controller   1.5.70
Firmware       1.5.30

Keep in mind, i have not had a successful upgrade to 1.5.30 yet according to the text file.   However, now i'm getting no signal from the aircraft.  The camera screen is black.  It shows the battery level and the number of GPS satellites, but i cant control the camera angle.  I'm not sure what to do with it now.

Looks like a wrong date stamp? Check the date on your computer, or tablet, whatever you used to download the update. May have to download again afterwards.

Thanks for the suggestion.  I took a flashlight and looked at the cable.  There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with it.  I looked at the entire gimbal and camera and nothing looked out of place or loose.   

I opened a support ticket with DJI five days ago and no response so far.  I added a note to it last night asking someone to contact me.  Nothing so far.

Ok, I'm pretty sure the problem now is my camera.  The upgrade fails, but I'm assuming it would do that if the camera wasn't working correctly.   When I click on "About", it shows the app, aircraft and remote are all on the most recent versions.  When i turn everything on like I'm going to fly, the opening screen says the firmware is the latest.  When i go to the camera screen, it's black, but all the telemetry works.  The middle bar says "No Signal".  I'm able to control the vertical position of the camera.   It shows several gps sats in range and the battery power.   Just no picture.   I also turned on the motors and they fired right up.  It looks like i could fly, but without FPV of the camera.

Any suggestions?

Well you're just full of Christmas cheer...      This really sucks.  I'm going on a family vacation in one week and have planned on taking my P3P with me to show off to my brothers.   Oh well.

Also, here's the support number   #228936       Is this under warranty?  I hope so.  It worked fine a week ago and then i tried to put the 1.5.3 upgrade on and now it's not working.

any luck with your problem i also have encountered the same exact problem i spoke to dji and said its module 8 & 15 and they want me to send it in but one problem i dont have a proof of purchase. i am totally stumped here. dji rep literally said im screwed and then apologized. what other way can we fix this

NOTICE that it says 8 and 15 not detected!

I have an update in case anyone cares.  I finally talked to DJI support and they arranged for me to send it in.  I checked the fedex tracking number and it was delivered in CA yesterday the 4th.   Now I guess I wait for them to contact me.   If they tell me it's not under warranty and they want me to pay, there's going to be an argument.  My P3P was working fine before I tried to take the update and broken immediately after.  That seems to be something they should fix.

$340 !    I just got the bill to fix my P3P.  There was no explanation in the invoice, just that I'm being charged for a new camera and the labor.   I just checked and there is a six month warranty on the camera so I'm going to call them and argue that point.  Also, I don't care how long it's been, the thing broke when I tried to do the FW upgrade to 1.5.3.   It worked before the upgrade and didn't work after it.  It was their upgrade that broke it so they should fix it no matter how long ago I bought it.     

I realize this isn't as expensive as some of the others on the market, but $1500 (including a 2nd battery) is a lot of money!  They should stand behind their product and fix it when they break it.

Thanks Patrick.  I called support and talked to a lady that was no help at all.  She said she's just tech support and has nothing to do with the repair work.  That seems reasonable, but she couldn't direct me to anyone that could help me.  She suggested that I reply to the email, so I did.  That was last Thursday morning the 7th.  Im still waiting to hear from someone.   I replied to the email again this morning, the 11th.   Now my big fear is that they'll send it back to me seven days after the invoice was sent because I haven't paid for the repairs.  That was listed in the email.   

I'm going to try to call again in a few minutes.

Again, thanks for any help you can give me.   I called yesterday and talked to a guy in the repair center.  He said he would make a note to have someone who does control this issue contact me.  He said they would contact me in the next one to two days.   He also said they would not automatically send the drone back to me until this gets resolved.   So now I'm just waiting to hear from them.

Ok.  thanks again.    I just talked to someone in customer service who asked me if I had emailed the account people directly.  I said no, no one else has mentioned that to me yet.  She gave me the email address and I just emailed them.   I'll give them a few days and see if they get back to me..

Yeah.  They finally emailed me back Yesterday and said they would repair it under warranty and to ignore the invoice.   Now I just wait for them to send it back.  Considering it's -5 degrees right now, i'm not in a big hurry to go outside and do anything..
