Star Wars might be out soon and the force might well be with you but keep this force away from the DJI Osmo.

Came across this thread on the Chinese DJI Forum ( Link ) where an user has had the strangest misshap with the Osmo I have seen to date.

From what I can gather the user had it mounted on a car that accelerated quickly and resulted in the Osmo breaking at the mounting point between the camera and handle. Not sure if this is something to be concerned about or it its a very unfortunate incident. He reported only slight scratch damage to the camera itself in the incident.
Really hope this is some mad one off issue. Don't want to be reading of #OsmoGate

Yes, we've contacted this customer and let him send it back for detection. The situation is that he mount it outside the window and accelerated quickly to over 100 km/h. We have suggested in the user manual of vehicle mount, http://dl.djicdn.com/downloads/o ... _Start_Guide_en.pdf
Bring the Osmo inside of the vehicle if you are travelling at speeds over 100Km/h. Otherwise, the gimbal may enter Protection mode and become inactive. Also, uses should always check if the gimbal ring has been locked in order to avoid this accident.

How is the OSMO going to survive mountain biking as seen in DJI's own video?
I think I'll cancel my bike mount.

As long as your speed is less than 100 km/h. The bike mount has a damper cylinder on it.

Yeah. It works flawlessly on your bicycle.

I will be mountain biking not road riding,  I will never exceed 100 km/h, but I don't think speed is the issue,
I think the G forces will be the problem.  Attached is a link of me riding one of my favorite trails, let me know if you think the OSMO can stand up to mountain biking or should I cancel my bike mount,  The video was filmed with a Go Pro which is unwatchable. I will take your advise and do whatever you recommend.  Thank you.

Hi, I am afraid that the Osmo can't be used in this situation. Since the gimbal is a high precision and delicate device, some of the bumps showing at your video might caused an hardware issue of the gimbal. So it's better to use normal camera here.
