I went to check out the FAA webpage to fill out the registration form and nothing has changed. Nothing to fill out unless you do it by mail.

The site should go live at some point during the day.  No one ever said it would be first thing in the morning.

Well supposedly being a professional government it seems like they would have stated on the webpage registration will begin at ( 9:00 a.m. or what ever time), or ( soon as we have our coffee and donuts). Obviously it is not that important.

Well, it's now 10:40 AM EST and there's still no active link on the FAA's website to permit UAS registration. Maybe the guy/gal is *really* late to work!

You will not get an "N" number for UAS registration. Those are "reserved" for "traditional" aircraft - according to the FAQ provided by the FAA.

I got to the checkout and the cost was $25. Somethings not right here. I understand the cost was going to be nothing before Jan 20th.

The cost is $5.00 and if you register before the 30 days then you will automatically get your $5.00 refunded.
I don't know why it would ask for $25.

Thanks for the information on the correct site to register.  I registered with no problem.  Not sure how I am going to put the number on my aircraft.  Anyone have good ideas?

It can be as simple as writing your number on a piece of masking tape and placing it inside your battery compartment.

I did a search on the FAA website and typed in DJI.  I found many N numbers registered to many types of Phantoms and Inspires.  I 'm not sure if they are for commercial or not.  Take a look and search for DJI or any other drone manufacturer....
maybe commercial operators get an N number????

I beleive you are looking at commercial N numbers. The hobby numbers will be listed at a later date.

I have a 333 exemption and I'm also private pilot. As a commercial operator, all of my drones need to have a FAA N number if I'm using them for work.
