My iPad Air 2 running IOS 9.2 started crashing out of the DJI GO app (version 2.4.3) EVERY time I tried to open camera page today. I tried powering OFF the iPad and powering back on but that didn't fix the problem.  My iPad Mini 3, however, is running fine.  Note: I have not yet updated my Phantom 3 or Inspire 1 to the 1.6 firmware.

Is there any way to fix this problem WITHOUT deleting the app (AND all its data - including videos) and reinstalling it?  I know I can get the flight logs back - because they are stored in the cloud, but I'm afraid deleting the app and reinstalling it will cause me to lose the numerous videos in the Library section of the DJI GO app.  Is there a way to restore these videos in the Library after reinstalling the app?

Managed to get a flight today with the new firmware
Worked flawlessly

After this update I see in the Android DJI GO app by firmware 1.6.40 and by the remote controller 1.5.70, why not both 1.6.40 ??

When the upgrade is in process the camera light flashes green and red. When the update is finished the sound the drone is making will change and the camera light will be green.

How to update the software in each battery of the phantom 3 standard ??  i mean you can update the firmware just one time. but if you have more batteries how you are going to update the software on those batteries

I believe the firmware is copied to the SD of the standard during update. So after the initial upgrade, remove one battery and add another then power on again, update should then be done to the battery, repeat for all batteries you have..

I don't have a Standard P3 but this is how I always thought the process would go for batteries.

" In cold environments, propulsion output is automatically adjusted based on battery temperature and cell voltage. Horizontal and vertical speed is also decreased to avoid triggering battery protection"

Does any one know what temperature triggers the reduced power ?

Thats what you do with the DJI phantom 3 pro and advance but with the standard you cant do that . there no frimware donwnload in DJI page to download the firmware for the phantom 3 standard

Updating was a piece of cake.
The Apps gives the following versions:
App: 2.4.3
RC: 1.5.70
FW: 1.6.40
The results file:
========== 2014.01.01 00:00:12 remo-con disconnect======
Packet: P3S_FW_V01.06.0040.bin
Upgrading ...
Result: Success.

That's great, it really isn't hard to do.
And as a note, the update will now say 1.6 and not 1.5+
Just make sure to update each battery too.

I know, I though the app transfers it to the SD of the P3S over wifi then  it does the firmware update ( unless it does it on the fly )..

Just upgraded firmware to latest and now no GPS or IMU calibration function... apart from reinstalling previous firmware does anyone know alternative solution?

How can i reset the notification in the android app?

No mention of the RC Signal Loss since upgrading firmware last night. Several we're having the issue this morning. Mine still won't work after deleting and installing app, recalibration drone, power cycling everything and delinking RC. Any guidance?

I'm sorry your having issues, have you tried resetting the WiFi, here's a good tutorial video that explains it and relinking the aircraft.

Sorry David, that's fro the Standard but I'll leave the video up if other Standard users are having problems.

Thank you so much guys! I literally freaked out. I went for the update (purchased DJI Standard last week, been flying it successfully until new update prompted me today for the battery climate change) - After updating it some how just "Failed" at 64% and wanted me to force quit, did that and re-pushed the update as prompted followed by "Successful update" - after that my remote was getting NO signal to the aircraft. After troubleshooting I finally came across that video posted on how to re-sync the RC to AC, as well as resetting the WiFi password/name - which I did and now everything works GREAT with new update as well.

i'll stick with 1.4 still...after i tried 1.5 and instantly had issues after a successful install, i went right back to 1.4...waste of 2 hrs during my day off... until i know 120% sure that 1.6 is legit with no issues i'll stick to the motto "if its not broken, don't fix it" attitude

Just let it beep away it will sort it self out,it may take 10 minutes or so
So stick it in another room because those are loud beeps

Bought Phantom 3 Standard about a week ago from Best Buy. Flew it a handful of times, no problems. Loved it. On Tuesday night, got a notification on the app that there was a new firmware upgrade. Updated and all seemed fine. Took it out to fly and there was a red notification on the app that said: "RC Signal Lost." Wouldn't fly. Rebooted everything. Deleted the app. Re-installed the app. Calibrated the compass. Relinked the RC. Rebooted everything again and still have the "RC Signal Lost" error. Phantom 3 flashes 2 yellow lights.

If the controller's on the latest firmware you can't do anything to it, only the bird.

DJI, Why can't you answer the most important question here? Does this firmware fix the vibration issues or not?

Ok, somebody want to elaborate?  I have just come back from overseas with over 100 flights on 153 and have no idea about any vibration?  The firmware has been rock solid for me so this cannot be an generic across the board issue?

Yup I agree with you I have had the same faultless experience with hundreds of flights now.  I mainly keep three things in mind,  1.  I don't fix things that are not broken and 2. I don't go at things like a bull at a gate but take my time,  3.  as my Son is an aircraft jet engine tech,  he made sure from day one that I do a full flight inspection before taking off.     A flawless amazing product that has totally changed my view on photography merged with a flying hobby.

When attempting to update I get continual very loud beeps.   Have no idea how to stop this.
