I just used my Brother P-Touch label maker.

P-Touch for me as well. No need for flair here. I will comply as minimally as I can, Tiny Fonts.

With the smallest fonts my P-Touch will provide - and even given half the alphabet! - there's enough room on the "lip" of the battery compartment to affix my reg number.

On my plane and powered glider, I put the number on the tail. Since I couldn't find anything on the FAA web site about the size requirement of the numbers, they too are as small a font as the P-Touch could generate.
