Not seen anyone discuss this new beta of the "coming Soon" GEO system. Anyone tried it out yet?

I personally think it's a step forward in some ways, although it will now give the small minority of idiots the ability to fly over and near airports again.

At this time, it's only for Android Users.
When I emailed DJI, I was informed that its now going through the Apple Store for approval and to wait for the announcement.

My buddy is on the beta testing team and its in iOS.. I've seen it, seen how it works..

In general its a good idea.. You have to acknowledge you are in a no fly zone and that gets recorded.. You can go onto the website and pre-approve your authorizations at a specific airport. That gives you a two day window. You can set up as many of these pre-approvals as you want.

From the emergency services perspective is a PITA and I HOPE DJI will have some sort of blanket for fire/police but suspect they wont.. So it will be more work for us to keep up with it. You can do it from the app and it adds a few seconds to deployment that's a real inconvenience in an emergency but doable..

Do you have any kind of information that leads to a release date for the iOS platform?
I have a certain urgency in filming a no-fly zone this month but the actual setup doesn't let me fly.
I hope it comes out really soon.

I wish I did, but I don't. I suspect, and it's a pure guess, it's still a month or more out. It's been an beta a while now. We found a bug in it today on a really really big wildfire and we almost didn't get in the air.

The GEO app is very cool and if needed you can fly at airport. There is a app for IOS, email Beta@DJI.com and request it.

Are you saying it is available now? Is there any possibility to get the beta? I really need it very soon as you know, I have an important work to do and I don't want to buy an android tablet just for that...

It is available for testers, I have sent an email and am awaiting reply to see if it it's still available and how a user goes about downloading it.
I've had it for several weeks and it works fine.

Any update on this? Have a flight Monday (approved flight for airport) and got no reply from the beta email regarding access to the beta for iOS.

I received an email for it, but if you have to be selected as a beta tester, to get it. At least that's how it read on my end.

I just got my new V2 Inspire X3 and the fiberglass tubes have uniform weave ... unlike the V1 has. Why has this changed ? Do you know if there is any difference

They said it would be available for those who needed most almost 2 weeks ago....and nothing.

Well, that's a valid point but I don't understand that in that way. At least they said "will be available to those who need most". I need it badly and I'm not a beta tester... and still not available.

The V2 is awesome I really see a lot of changes from my "B" version. Love the new aluminum landing gear worm-gear brackets. Hey is it normal to get the second remote not set up in a stand alone box?

Anyway, I cant wait to get this one going..... (just like a kid at Christmas)   I am still recovering from my procedures (meds) do not trust my brain


PS, I am signed up and waiting for a response for the GEO fence IOS version. but honestly, I can wait for my condition to improve first. I hope to get the opportunity to try it out.

So you are saying IOS users can load beta Geo on a Android device and are good to go??  Or is there more to it? Firmware? Remote?  Battery update?  Can a switch between IOS and Android depending on if I need the geo system?

Tes, if you are on 1.6 or below firmware you can install 1.7 GEO Beta app on your aircraft and 2.4.4 onto your Android and you will have GEO.
It will be availavle for IOS at a future date.

Thanks for getting back to me.  I am on 1.7 on the aircraft.  Just did a quick test flight and beta Geo System worked, I dismissed the unpaved airport near me.  What about stadiums?  Will I be able to dismiss the same as airports?  Only asking because its about 60 mile drive to test it out.
