Just received an email announcing the new Phantom 3 4k, I dont see any difference other than more battery life and instead of Lightbridge it uses wifi. It states the main difference is that this model is capable of doing 4K, but to my understanding that is what the P3P can do. I can't see the price either


Other differences:
No GLONASS
Apparently different RC
Operates on wifi (less range)
2mbps max video bitrate compared to P3P's 10mbps
480p live preview quality

As I said, there is no price in DJI's website, so I don't know if its directed to the general public if its cheaper, but I guess it must be

Look like the P3 Professional with NO LIGHTBRIDGE

I am an owner of a P3 Standard and  I do like it, but the range is BAD !!

If you fly anywhere, but in a remote flat area with NO interference, don't expect much over 900-1100 FEET -NOT METERS,  with wi-fi.

I know others claim greater distance, but these claims are not the norm.

I also noticed that the live view is only 480P

to be slotting in a 4k unit here is probably due to price pressure from other drones.  They are cutting the "nice to have" features for the price point but obviously I am guessing as there is no price announced.  

The really big thing for me is range... nice long battery but I hate the thought of Wi-Fi interference… image that is a town or city??!!

FAQ's are interesting for the 4k... Just seems to be a machup of the Advanced/Standard with some bits like FPV video being the worst of the lot..

The Phantom 3 4K has 480p30 video downlink and other specs are the same.

Yes.

P3 advanced and professional are too competitive for much more expensive Inspire 1. They are just too good at now.
Range of P3P and P3A (and also Inspire 1) is also a far better than rules of flying in US proposed by a law.

I think P3 4k and P3S will just replace P3P and P3A.

And lack of a glonass - this is a signal of influence USA on DJI.
