Yes, Thank you for the picture. It is worth the effort to make sure the battery is fully seated into the tray. A little extra push and take a look.

Yes, but is the phantom working?
You can turn on the battery without it being anywhere near the phantom.

You don't want that vibrating out while you're in the air.  That will lead to severe consequences.  I little extra push until you hear it click in place will save a lot of headache and tears.

Yes, the phantom will work if the battery is inserted partially (like in that photo).
I've tested that scenario a few seconds ago.

You might be able to power up the Phantom, but without getting that final click, it's not locked in and very possible come out during flight.

I noticed in cold weather the rubber and plastic are contracted slightly, I thought I had a bad battery as well. Just give it a little more push to set.

if the battery is charged 75% or more than you can't really charge it more unless you start the battery first (outside the Phantom, of course)

I once had the Phantom at an altitude of 420 feet... then I glanced down and saw the battery was still in the case at my feet...
Man, was I embarrassed.

i dont see that as a problem because nobody would push the batterie only halfway in like that. I mean everybody with common sense and 1000 dollar in mind would push the batterie in pretty stron. i dont even know if this is possible because the two pins need to touch the contact points, otherwise the motos wont start

Come On Guys. Most the people, at least taking the time to chat on here, aren't amateurs. My battery was fully in. When it failed it seemed as if only the front half failed. The red nav lights went out and the green stayed aluminized. I had about 15-20 flights with it so all the internal components were well within their lifespan.
