Seeing reports of price drops for the Phantom Standard and Advanced:

The DJI drones that received a price cut are the Phantom 3 Advanced and the Phantom 3 Standard, which happen to be two of the most popular drones among consumers.

DJI 1280 x 720pFrom $999 and $699, the DJI Phantom 3 Advanced and the Phantom 3 Standard are now $799 and $499 respectively. So if you’re looking to get into the drone hobby, now might be a very good time. The Phantom 3 Standard for $499 especially looks like a killer deal.
The new pricing will take effect starting 6th January 2016.

I see some price drops on Amazon already, any official details?

Wait until CES kicks of for DJI to start offering the price ( not long now its 06:42 in Vegas )..

As a potential new purchaser of either the Standard or the advanced this is quite exciting news. Only yesterday I was poised to make a purchase online and with this latest news it looks like holding out might save a few UK pounds. Fingers crossed the savings echo onto the UK market.

just received mine two days ago from DJI. Bought the standard directly from their store at 699..   wonder if they would do a rebate or something for the price reduction. I could always just send it back and get another and save several hundred dollars.

Downside for some is the soaring US$ has more than offset any price drop.

I've just noticed that on Amazon the standard has come down to £499 from £649.

Unfortunately we normally always have to pay more for electrical goods here in the UK

Just keep and eye on these pages for when the price drops - I would think the Advanced will be close to £699 and the Standard about £419 going by the $ price.

Ya I just got the email, the Euro versus USA prices are awful though!

$799 at current exchange rates is €742 yet DJI are charging €899!!!

That makes no sense. Well Tax is some of it but not all

Drone sales over the holidays were probably far short of expectations.
Expectations were through the roof.   But judging by the lack of a large rush of new members at most popular drone forums, it appears the sales boom fizzled.
The number of new members at drone forums should be nearly overwhelming....if sales matched expectations.

Possibly due to the timing of registration laws.  But also possibly due to market saturation.   Those who really wanted them have already obtained them.
Were it not for the drastic drop in fuel prices, we'd be seeing some very dismal results fo the holiday shopping season.

Lowered prices are likely needed to try to clear out overstock.

I did notice a little increase in member applications at a couple FB groups, one Parrot group and two Taranis groups.
Had hoped for a lot more even if it brings a little effort.
I think the new laws popping up all over the globe effectively stopped a whole lot of sales.

In hind sight some of the new members might be people getting used gear from those who leave our great hobby due to the laws and restrictions...

You make a good point.
There are a LOT of drones changing hands.
Doesn't  necessarily mean new people are entering the hobby

My other half bought me a P3A for Christmas from Jessops here in the UK.

I don't know what she paid, but she was extremely cheesed off a few days ago and mentioned that it had come down in price by a good amount.

Mine came with the hardcase/backpack etc...

She's now a happy wee munchkin tonight after getting a phone call telling her that she's been refunded £200 ;-)

Maybe I'll get a new battery or 2 tomorrow for my birthday? LOL
