I'm wondering if anyone has an X5 in the Tampa Bay, Florida area.

I want to actually see one and see what it can do before I buy.

The video was finished being edited and will be uploaded in the next few days...we had two Phantoms out. It was awesome.

Just like you I'm still not sure if I should buy this new camera. I see videos, reviews, photos etc. and do not convince me that this is a good upgrade.

I have the X5 in West Palm Beach. It is a bit of a learning curve. You have many more settings to deal with and it is easy to go into senior moments and forget to set them. Is it worth it? Time will tell. I have the issue of the camera updating the firmware. I bought the Inspire 1 Pro as a unit and I have had troubles from the start. It is about to go back for the second time for repair.

Im sorry to hear that egan... such a struggle to invest this type of money and not get what you envisioned. I hope DJI understands we are its best marketing tool. It is easier to keep customers than get new ones... I have always found.

Wow...I don't know how I missed this until just now...that's great! I come down to Miami semi-regularly.

Ha! I can understand that. I just made a checklist walking me through each step. I got tired of forgetting little things. Makes it annoying.

Would be able to show me your X5 the next time I'm in the area?

I'm sure it's better! The fact that the lens is interchangeable is better! There are a lot of shots I do I wish were at a longer focal length...

I have an X5 and live in the Lake City area.  have the X5R on order and finally figured out how to get this to maintain focus. It is a learning curve for sure. travel to Gainesville and Ocala almost weely as well

No ship date but definitely look forward to it. I fly all the time but lately with the high winds and heavy overcast skies in northern florida it's put a damper on flying. Shoot me an email if you'd like and we can get together sometime....

Hey! Sorry for the delay...sometimes I feel like I don't get alerted when there is new communication...anyway, sure! Let me know when you are around? Do you fly?

I have upgraded to the X5 and have also gotten a 14-42mm zoom and a 12mm lens in addition to the 15mm that came with it.
I have not missed the X3 once. I didn't like it because it was fixed focus.
I have had no problems at all with the rig. Having F-stop makes it a real camera too! So much more one can do with it.
I'm in NC, so can't demo it for you, but figured I'd put in my two cents.
BTW, after I bought the X5, I sold the X3 on eBay for $400 which helped a little on the cost of the X5.

Thanks! Yes, that's kind of what I thought. Honestly I've been waiting for the X5R to be released (so glad it's finally come out!!!!!).

Now, maybe you can answer my question: On the DJI website it says "Photography Only" next to the 14-42 and the 45. What does this mean?! I've seen videos people have shot with those lenses and can't figure out why it would be photography only...

Any ideas?

That's awesome! You up for shooting an easter egg hunt tomorrow in Clearwater? There are something like 5,000 people. Obviously you wouldn't fly over people, but there's plenty of water around.
