So I did a video of my P3A testing Waypoints....

What setting am I missing that makes it come home and crash to the ground on initial start of the Waypoint program?

You can see it around 5:07

I'm guessing the altitude recording is off.  You should be at least at 32ft altitude when setting way points.  The flight altitude looks to be at half way up the buildings, I would expect 32ft to be more than that.

I wasn't aware of the 32ft rule at first... when I attempted to set the first point at 8ft it errored and stated 10 meters. Of course I didn't pay attention and went to 10 ft. Every time it didn't set the point until I got around 30... Then it errored but set 2 points. I didn't pay much attention to those until after I saw the screen capture. The sunlight affected my ability to see the screen on the device. Now that I know where I should set my first point, I'll see how it works later.

EDIT: Just reviewed video... first point was set after getting to 10ft

You can't set the first waypoint below 10 metres.  Any waypoint after that can be any height, even negative heights if you're on a mountain for example.

I wouldn't fly waypoints below 10 metres without very careful observation because my altitude accuray isn't good enough.  Yours may be the same.   See here http://forum.dji.com/thread-41475-1-1.html

Now that I think of it, my "Home point" is actually around 2ft or so higher than where I started the waypoints. I live on a slight hill and had the home point near the house. I wonder if that was part of the issue. Home reference as opposed to the starting waypoint.

What was the temperature there. It looks very cold. The manual says it does not reccommend flying in very cold weather (-10 C)

Here's the log from what I uploaded to HealthyDrones. Maybe because I had the speed set up high it crashed down from it's hovering elevation of 32ft to get to the first waypoint at 10ft? I would think it would do a controlled drop to the start point first, even if it was below the 10m minimum. Warning message was .. 10.5ft elevation "Warning Waypoint altitude lower than 32.8feet(10m), please set appropriate aircraft speed to avoid crash. "

It happened because point A was right above point B, and point B was very close to the ground. Since you set a maximum velocity, the drone didn't have enough distance to "break" and it hit the ground...

I noticed during the video clip that the first thing you did when taking off was set the home point.  Why? The aircraft would have set a good home point when you started the motors, why set another some distance up in the air?

Also, I note you set your return to home altitude to 200 Metres, or 656 Feet, again why? If RTH was triggered while you were out at the far end of your flight due to low battery, the aircraft would have had to climb to a height of 656 feet to fly that small distance home. If the battery had been critical, it would have crashed in the process.

Hi geebax, is that True? I though the RTH altitude (I.e 200m) is also calculated - so drone start urlier with the RTH process when it has to climb to 200m.  (Means less "real" fly time)

Only if you enable Smart RTH. In any event, it is a waste of good battery power.

Yes, it is usually a good idea to set the RTH to the lowest SAFE altitude (taking all possible obstacles in to account) before starting to fly in a site.

This was actually my mistake. Still learning a bit. Although I set the measurement settings to Imperial... I didn't pay attention to the "m" in the altitude RTH setting. I was thinking 200 Ft all the time and wondered why the message was always saying 656 ft. I finally put 2 and 2 together.... and saw the "m".... Trust me... I slapped myself in the forehead for that one.
