For those of you not flying during the cold winter months, how are you storing your batteries? Anything special we should be doing?

Thanks,
Brad

You could fly (hover) them down to 50% and then keep them in a cool place.

The intelligent battery will automatically take it down to storage level. So nothing special to do to store them.
BUT, there's got to be an indoor place by you where you can at least fly around and play. I could not go all winter with my aircraft on a shelf.

Is it ok to leave the battery in the Phantom3 for long periods of time when stored, or is it best to leave the battery out of the Phantom3 ? Thank you!

It's best to leave it out. You shouldn't keep the battery in the aircraft for extend periods.

Thanks. Currently everything is in the case out in my garage. Batteries are not in the copter, but are in the case. Does it hurt them to remain in temp's that dip far below freezing?

As for winter flying, I do occasionally take it to work and fly inside our studio. I manage a 55,000 s/f photo studio for a large manufacturer of ag and construction equipment. The building also has 30' ceilings. So I do fly some, but it's not the same as being out in the great wide open.

Thanks,
Brad

I keep my back pack in the house with the batteries in the case, DJI's storage specs say -18F to 71F for storage.

At the risk of hijacking the thread, does anyone store their batteries in some form of battery bunker or cabinet incase of fires? I never had a fire but I did have a couple RC truck packs puff out.

I wish I had an indoor place to fly in the winter but I don't. The withdrawals are killing me.

I'm not sure if it's quality or a false sense of security but the DJI batteries seems lot more stable than a lot of the Lipos Ive owned in the past. I still think I'm gonna buy a metal tray or something fireproof to at least set them on.

It certainly does not hurt to put any lipo in a fireproof container.
