Crashed, re-shelled, no GPS

So the inevitable happened, P3P ended up having to re-shell, verified connections>reassembled>(error 45)>IMU recalibration> flight and everything else but no GPS. I've checked connections again to no avail. Everything checks out but that, can fly but  hate doing so without gps. Any suggestions, tips or otherwise? Thanks in advance. Just about ready to ship off to a repair center but would like to avoid that

Did you reinstall all the shielding and of course check wires at connector and GPS module?

edit: maybe one of the wires are broken inside that shield they have around the cable.

The gps module is in the top shell, maybe you scrapped it with the older shell?

Did you replace top shell or use your old top shell? If you replaced it was the shielding intact once you removed it and reinstalled it on the new top shell? That shielding is very important.

If everything is connected then it should work unless your crash damaged the GPS.

What's the average repair bill for shipping it off?

Will that cause the error 45? I read where the error 45 was no longer for vps with the upgrade. Is there a diagnostic tool somewhere that I could use?

Since you have already opened it you could just order the replacement GPS module. I believe that error 45 to be disconnected GPS module. I read where one guy simply forgot to plug the module back in as he was in a hurry to fly.

I haven't heard for the P3, but the P2 series GPS would sometimes break in a crash

Pull it apart, clean and check all the contacts, check cables for continuity with a multi meter and put it back together again.  You would be amazed at the number of electronic devices that just magically work when you do this. Maybe wise just to buy a drone for parts. That is what I plan to do when my drone finally gets to point where I can no longer  fix it with spare parts, glue,  tape,  oscilloscope and a soldering iron.

I ordered another gps unit, just wish there was a way to run diagnostics on it or dare I say, one that's available to us.
