Hello,

I have just recieved the latest Vision Plus V3 and I'm now working my way through the manual.  One thing I keep reading is about the importance of watching the video tutorials.  However, I have so far only managed to find one training video from DJI.  Can someone please help and point me in the right drection please?

Many thanks

These are the ones on the DJI website that I'm aware of http://www.dji.com/product/phantom-2-vision-plus

Do a Youtube search as well.

These are good too.  http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/ho ... 099001.html?lang=en

Thanks guys, I assumed there were official DJI tutorials as the manual seems to imply there are some but it seems they have only produced one.  The bhphotovideo looks good thanks and I'll search You Tube also.

Many thanks

Hey Karl,

If you go to the products support page here  there are videos for each product.  http://www.dji.com/support

Study the Vision + manual http://download.dji-innovations. ... _Manual_v1.6_en.pdf

as well as the NAZA-M manual  http://download.dji-innovations. ... _Guide_v1.26_en.pdf
You will find the NAZA-M V2 manual will help explain the different flight modes in NAZA Mode, and explain the different LED staus lights in NAZA Mode.  You may want to look at the NAZA flight modes at your earliest convenience, inluding ATTI mode.  GPS mode is a great tool, but is not the only flight mode, and not necessarily the preferred mode for most flying.  But by all means, follow the directions of the manufacturer, go slow and steady in your pre-flight training, and ask questions if you have any.

You're right that there is a reference to the "Phantom 2 Quick Start Video" and the Wiki specifically states, "Please watch the quick start video of the PHANTOM 2 for more compass calibration details." Last July I sent an e-mail to DJI Customer Service asking where this video is to be found, the they responded with, "Thank you for your email. We're sorry that we didn't find the QuickStart Video which you said from the following WIKI.

http://wiki.dji.com/en/index.php/Phantom_2

All the video link are listed below:

https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLEFZat6QdOIFYzYRiDjVYK4f8-VbzlKrG

Please feel free to email us if you have other question."

You would think that they would update their materials.

Their latest manual revision still contains bad links to videos.  Karl, you are taking the right approach.

There a hundred of videos to help you get started on YouTube. Configuration is pretty much the same as "V2".

Well reis, over the years I've observed that anytime you preface a statement with:  "You would think they would... xyz" -- the opposite is true.  And just so you'll be prepared, you will find yourself saying that more than a few times.  But hey, that's why you're on the forum, because we did the thinking the other guys forgot and we can point folks to the videos DJI should have made.  Like these

B&H Photo - Phantom tutorials that cover the following:
  1) Unboxing And Assembly 6:42
  2) Assistant Software 5:31
  3) Flight Modes 7:49
  4) DJI Vision App 6:07
  5) First Flight 9:15

Oh, I think you've done a great job on your guide.  As others have mentioned it would be nice as a web site or as a sticky here on the forum.  One thing I would add is a "release note" summarizing the changes (heck, you had 3 updates back in in November)

Wow, you can not beat the power of a good forum!  Some excellent information here guys so thank you very much and I will definitely be studying FantOmas's manual for sure!  I have watched quite a few videos now and I'm learning quite a bit but as I've never flown any kind of remote aircraft before I have a lot to learn!!

I have have one issue however which I have reported to my supplier and I'm now waiting to hear back from them who in turn are waiting to hear back from DJI.  I also put a post about the problem in another section of this forum but only had one response so far so I'm going to hijack my own thread in the hope someone here may have the answer.

Basically after doing all the basics of downloading the driver and support software and calibration etc I decided to switch everything on the check out the left dial switch to control the up/down movement on the camera but it would not work.  When switching left to go down the camera moved quite fast then when switching to go up the camera gets stuck for a bit and then eventually goes up very slowly!  However, when I used the app to control the camera it worked perfect.  I tried the same thing again today just to be certain and I had the same issue except this time I had an error message pop up on my phone saying there was a problem with the camera motor but it still worked with the app.

Would anyone know what the issue might be and if it is an easy fix?  I am assuming it is a software glitch with the hand controller as the camera does work fine with the app.

Anyway thanks again this information is very useful and is very much appreciated.

Karl

Try this: TRANSMITTER CALIBRATION WITHOUT SOFTWARE

Thank you Gil, I've not had chance to update this thread but I sorted it today and yes it was the calibration.  Basically this should have been done when I calibrated the sticks but I had no idea as it is not in the manual sent with the kit.  The RC software assistance has a box to the right of the box for the stick calibration (sorry for bad terminology) and it is X1 for the left dial.  Anyway it worked and I managed to get my first flight in today, one word HOOKED!

Thank you very much
