Just bought a phantom 3 standard and I am hoping I will get similar distance that I get with my phantom 2. I see a lot of people complaining about range so I want to make sure the range is close to the same. Thanks

You get a bit better range on the P3S then the P2.
P3S 500m CE, and 1000m FCC
P2 400m CE, and 800m FCC
And these are in an area with NO interference.

Awesome thanks for the info. I've lost my phantom once (I did find it a few days later) so I like to keep it nice and close these days.

Sounds good, the RTH works great so if you ever do lose it it will come back to you

The specs listed is the range you will get in an open interference area.
If you are not getting close to that range or half of it in an urban area please let me know and we can do a warranty repair.Also, this video may help.

Okay lets find out. I have heard a lot of people complain about range so I was a little concerned but I realize some might have a unrealistic expectation. I still have my P2 and a large field (used to be a golf course) across the street. When I get my P3 standard I will do a range test comparison. I know I typically get around 1200ft away before I lose signal.

BTW I lost my drone by flying it to far out and the return home did not work.... I had lock before I took off. Anyways 12 firmware versions later I think it works now I like that it has a black box now.

my standard has reached 6000 ft without wind surfer and 2.6 miles with it.  So i think its more the surrounds than the drone.

GT Drone made a nice range extender. He posted it somewhere here on this forum.He voided the warranty but he's happy with his results.

Cool, i'm not to crazy about super long range but some added stability will be nice.
