FedEx just returned my P3P after TWO trips to California to the DJI repair facility.  I cant wait to get home and see if they managed to get it right this time.  It's currently 23 degrees in Indianapolis.  Is there any problem taking it out for a little spin to see if it works?   Or is that too cold?

Make sure your battery is warm.  Take off and hover for a minute or two to let it warm up before any heavy stick application.  Expect shorter flight time due to cold.

Keep the battery warm before you go out and fly and you will be ok.

Thanks for the replies.  Nothing big, I just want to make sure it actually flies.      It's been down for two months so I'm glad to have it back and hopefully working.

If I were to go out in that temp,  I would not be able to fly because I would look like the Michelin Man with so many layers of clothes on.  My arms would stick straight out to my sides and I would not be able to hold the controller.  My hat is off to you for even trying.  But then,  I live in southern California.  Maybe that is why I left New York.  So hard to remember anymore.....

Flown many times with the temps  low 20s (F).   Hadn't had any issues.  I'm sure battery life was shorter but I didn't check duration to see... But no issues...

No wonder you wear that funny hat.  It's probably full of insulation and a thermos of brandy.

Do not fly on old firmware when it is cold or it can just shutoff and drop dead during flight. Only FW 1.6 has battery fix for cold weather.

yea , we don't have 1.6 ... firmware update , but  the feature to fly on cold areas is already in the last firmware of the phantom 3 standard , so we are covered and we can fly safety

well i try in 7 Celsius degrees and everything was ok .

Yes you heard me..... -16C.  However, today I had an IMU problem and had to recalibrate.  I was deep in snow country when it happened so by the time I recalibrated the cold got to my ipad battery and my ipad died.  I had to come out without any flight time.  I Snowshoed in....
