Inspire/Phantom 3 Simulator for your PC
Here is a quick guide on how to set up a pretty cool simulator on your computer for your I1 or P3.
Go to:
https://developer.dji.com/mobile-sdk/downloads/
and download the PC simulator and the WIN drivers (at the bottom)

Install the WIN drivers by extracting it and running the installer. Once this is done go ahead and install the PC simulator, making sure to read the manual. (Contains important tips to take note of)
Once it is installed, plug your aircraft into your computer via the aircraft’s USB port. Not the camera port.
Power on the aircraft, the remote. Once they have connected, start the simulator. Make sure your simulator displays your aircraft’s SN in the console or you may have to restart your aircraft and simulator.
Click start simulation and the Display simulation. Once you are in you will be able to do a CSC and start the motors. Make sure your props are off just in case.
Note:

In the instructions it says not to connect the Pilot app while running the simulator. I tried and it actually worked. You can switch into F mode and play around with POI, auto pilot and more.
If you have any questions setting up, please leave a comment below and I will respond to you ASAP.
You can also right click in the simulation and change camera settings.
Happy Flying!

-Michael

I installed the drivers, then the program and connected my bird with the micro usb all as in the pdf.

The SN shows up in the sim, everything seemed fine, but the motors wouldn't start, so I removed the USB connection from the PC and opened the GO app and now I have N/A for battery percentage and it flashes battery error-please check.

When I look at the batter history screen, it says Invalid Battery.

Both batteries are new and came with the bird and have been working fine . . .  until I tried the sim.

I get the same thing from both batteries . . . .

Please tell me I haven't bricked a brand new Phantom 3 Advanced

Oh man that's not good. Hmm. I'm really not sure. I didn't encounter any problem like this when I was using it and I've been using it for several days. Have you tried restarting the bird after exiting the sim? If not I recommend re installing the firmware. Did you press exit sim after leaving the simulator? Try to go back and start the sim up again and hit exit after entering it. This is not third party software, this is Dji so I would recommend contacting live chat because official Dji software is NOT supposed to do that.  @dji ken, can you step in please? Is anyone else having this problem?

Trying a firmware update procedure  . . .

Tried reinstalling the 1.6 version, but got repeated failures, but it seems like it's taking 1.5 . .

Will report back in a bit if it succeeded . .

I would then assume I can re-upgrade to 1.6 if it does

Darlene

Totally failed . .

Tried several times with 1.5 and 1.5, would go for a few minutes, but always ends up with a failed update.

Guess the only way I'm gong to see this in the air again is if I hang it from the ceiling with a string

Haha thanks they  asked me to put the article here so they can feature this post on the main forum page. One of the mod's asked me to tell them once I'm done putting the article in here. I did and I also told them about your issue so they will be able to help you when they get the message.

Holy Smokes . .

I feel like the biggest moron ever . . . Sheeeesh I'm an idiot sometimes

Problem turned out to be that the battery wasn't snapped in exactly right . . .

Everything got power, but the little pins below the power blades must not have been making up sufficiently for the data to communicate.

Tried the other battery again, and gave it a "Little extra love tap" after installing it, and everything is back to normal . . .

Both batteries work fine and the Simulator runs properly as well . . . .

Kudos on a nice bit of work . .  I really do owe you a beer, or maybe two or three . .

Hopefully my stupidity can be a heads up to other noobs
