So it looks like I have to much time on my hands.... so besides getting landing lights on teh P3P, I put together a landing pad

wow, seriously! it's an amazing pad! looks even better then the one for the real helicopters

What I did was design this using a simple design software. I used Photoshop. I took it to a sign shop and they printed it on a normal 2' X 2' plexiglass panel.

the lights I got from Pep Boys. they are simple auto LED lights with a power converter...
Still waiting on the cross lights that will light up the landing area besides the strobes.

you can see this from about 1 mile away at 400 Ft. didn't go any further than that, or Higher.

the base is a turn and bank base that allows me to level it. this is very cool if you need to do an IMU cal. my back yard where I launch from a lot is a hill. so the Pad needed to level for me.

so here are the costs....

Landing Pad = $100.00 USD
LED Lighting = $50.00 USD
Stand = $30.00 USD

Enjoyment = Priceless.
