The improvements on the new Phantom look amazing!  New safety features, follow features, faster and longer flight times.

My only complaint would be that the camera for the most part looks the same.  I'm guessing we are still going to get 4K at 60/mbs?

Chromatic aberration has been reduced by 56% and lens distortion had been reduced by 36% compared to Phantom 3 Professional. In addition to lens improvements, camera firmware has been tweaked to enable the camera to capture 120fps video in full 1080p FHD (the camera’s field of view will be reconfigured to 47° when recording in this mode) for smooth slow motion.

Chromatic Aberration and lens distortion can be adjusted in Lightroom.  The camera doesn't have significant changes.

The P4 is truly an amazing quad.

It doesn't list the sensor manufacturer on the comparison page, is it the same Sony Exmor found on the P3P?

Roadmap to dealers said p3 line will be sold through 2016 but it also said the phantom 4 would be $1700 so who knows. I doubt we will we a Phantom Pro/Advance this year.

i was really hoping for more improved camera.

• CA and distortion improvements are nice, but only on page 4 of wishlist..
• Dynamic range ... thats one of those things thats typically not on everyone's mind, but can significantly improve quality. P3 wasnt bad, but not great either. I dont hear anything about improvements on P4..?
• Low Light capabilities... P3 is quite poor, to put it nicely. 800ISO max, otherwise big loss of detail and plenty noise in low light. any improvement here? f2.8 stayed the same, was really hoping for more here.
• Slow mo...   well, small sensors doing high framerates rarely look good.. usually very soft with moire+aliasing. which is especially noticable on areal footage.
  and after hearing about FOV 47° in this mode, i m not having serious hopes for any usable results.
  That reminds me.. if you can control crop in firmware it would have been nice to introduce digital crop zoom, at least at 1080p.
• And the big one: props + arms visible in frame... if you watch hands-on videos (e.g. from The Verge) you will often notice props in frame at normal flight. So this issue remains with the P4. HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT.
  

i guess these are the issues they leave in to maintain separation to Inspire line.

And if all this sounds like big rant.. i have pre-ordered P4, cuz it s an incredible package at that price point.

First i like the model very good looking drone. Seconds the feathers are awesome. Camera I believe is sharper. Sadly they not much improve the camera which was good but not amazing. Sure we wish better codec and 100mb/s but that not going to happen. But still good enough for video yes pictures 12mp is not to impressive. That why am excited about the new lens for p4. I can't wait to own my self

Yeah for stills, video is different. You don't use LR for that, unless you export every frame and batch covert

Which ever unit rather is be Phantom or the Inspire posses a optical lens in the future will have my pre-order as soon as it is available. But kudos to DJI for this amazing upgrades. The obstacle avoidance feature was huge for me because I do a lot of Moto and Snowmobile filming and we are constantly in terrain with trees and ledges and to be able to have it follow you and avoid these obstacles is great

The ActiveTrack speed range is 0-22mph, so using ActiveTrack on a motocross track is not going to work unless it's the little kids race.

And AEB is still set at 0.7 stops rather than 1.0 stops.
Surely that should be a simple fix.
Is there a good reason why DJI stuck with 0.7 stops bracketing?

I don't use Lightroom but Photoshop works on video just as it does for stills.

Ohh ok, thanks for the clarification. Still impressive non the less. I bought a P3P two months ago so I will run that for awhile for now. As for the people complaining about low light though I filmed our high school bball team being escorted into town the other night from the state title game in total darkness and the results were impressive.

60Mbit/s for 4K Video is plenty since average YouTube 4K Video bitrate rarely goes over 15Mbit/s, just make sure to set it to .MOV and not .MP4 in Settings

I don't know if I'd say it's "plenty" for 4k since YouTube has crap quality video. Unless your only intent is to upload it to YouTube.
