hi,

any one know if phantom 3 will get an update to support activetrack?

im not sure if it is pure software or the tracking has something to do with new sensors.

Definitely the new sensors.

And additional computing power.

look at Vertical app, works similar via optical lock

i don't know, but i'm pretty sure phantom 3 will not have this features

the reason im not so sure that the new function for phantom 4 like the activetrack doesn`t involve the new sensors is due to the distance they work.
if i heard it correctly the sensors that tells the drone of any obstacles doesnt work that far away, and in the demo videos the activetrack function is seemingly working from a greater distance than what is told in their video.

i hope that function or something like it will come to the phantom 3. hopefully within 2 weeks since i`m to try some filming of people running up mountains

Yes the Vertical app will be released in a few days and will have Active track, Tap to fly and geo fence.  So far from what I hear it is great.

Wow, did not think that was possible for the existing Phantom 3 hardware.  Granted that is more on the software.
Would be interesting to try that out.

Thank You for recommending this App - just bought it and will make some test flights tommorow morning :-) From what I've seen and red from beta testers I am very optimistic. Now it is only 120fps that I would love to get in my P3 when comparing to P4. Definetly not worthy upgreading in my case :-) I'll post a videos once I test this app :-)

I purchased the app for $19.99 will try it out later today.

here is my first test with the Vertical app and dji phantom3 pro.


it lost its target a coupple of times, but i recon that was due to my incompetence as a pilot
This app will definatly help me getting better viseos of moving targets.

From what I read the 120 fps is just a firmware update so I would guess this is possible on the P3 as well. I think its kind of sad to see such software crippling.
