Yes, how dare they fail to factor in the sense of entitlement people have. I want my drone and I want it now! I don't care if you have to fill the factory full of children to build them 24/7 until all the orders are filled!

Seriously, you should work for them and explain how economics and sales predictions and production efficiency work. They probably have NO idea at all.....

From what I am able to discern, DJI is beginning shipping on the 15th. Apple is shipping to DELIVER on the 15th.

I ordered mine on March 1st and the status says prepare. Sounds like apple will get them delivered before DJI.

I contacted my Apple Store and they told me that the Phantom 4 is in stock for store pick up available now.

I figure ordering from DJI I will not be the first to get it.  It appears apple is pretty well stocked.... so they have some to sell during the exclusive time.    Again makes sense they have to give apple enough to make it happen.

I figure worst thing is I wait a week or two (hopefully not), but I do and watch others fly first.  And to be honest.... I don't mind not being first one to go into air.  To have a lot even test it before me is not a bad thing..   

My only thing I wish I could change is DJI shipping starts where it hit's houses on the 15th vs starting on 15th shipping.

Still "Pending" - as a first time DJI customer and hearing some of these other reports, it is a little bit disappointing but certainly not a big deal; it's just a toy! (but I want it nowwww!!!! LOL)

Ordered my phantom 4 on March 12 from dji just received an email for payment success will be notified later of shipment date and tracking number. I'm in NY let's see how quick I get it

Placed order Sunday 3/13 from DJI direct, ship to USA Status is Pending (as expected)
Judging from some previous posts, it might be sometime in April before it arrives. That is OK, it will give me some time to learn how to fly. I have a couple cheapies to practice on.

Hope I can get in on the "New Pilot Experience" in April.

I got 2 packages on the way...it seems that they send also my 3 spare batteries at the same time (or a second PH4...just in case that...)

Dji should ship to customers first!, being able to buy from Apple first is shocking. I ordered mine 30 seconds after it was released and my status says pending. Cancel my order!.

That's pretty much how I felt , seems ludicrous that you can place an order with DJI on the launch day ( mine was within 15minutes of going live ) pay for it immediately and yet DJI will only ship tomorrow and from China to the UK , whereas if I ordered it this evening before 7 pm I could have it delivered tomorrow by Apple ! Will I cancel my order with DJI , yes , will I re order with Apple , don't  know .

UPDATE - Just landed. Can't wait to get home and get it out and up.

Got shipping notice from Apple - should be here in Dublin tomorrow.

All Phantom 4 orders will be shipped to your house in the next 2 days. The first pre-orders will start seeing them tomorrow (15th) and everyone else that has ordered will receive them by the 17th.
If you ordered the multifunction back pack, then will come at a later date.

Ordered March 9th from Apple.com Store, It's out for delivery now on Fedex truck (shipped yesterday).   Sorry to those that ordered direct from DJI, even on launch day.   Here's what I have to say about ordering directly from DJI - it seems to be a great store IF you want to avoid taxes and/or get free shipping (when they offer it).  It is DEFINITELY NOT the way to go if you want your product FIRST.

I have ordered and had both the first Inspire 1 and Phantom 3 Professional on the actual release day or within 24 hours by ordering from dealers.  Usually from IntelligentUAS, sometimes from B&H.   I had a friend that ordered the Inspire 1 within seconds of it being available on the DJI store, I ordered mine from a dealer and had mine 2 weeks before he got his.

The DJI store is usually rather vague about shipping dates and where you are in line on launches... but at the same time they usually seem to get product out into their biggest dealers in time for launch, so when you preorder from one of those dealers that specialize in overnight delivery and keeping you informed, you have a much better chance of having your toy on the release date.

Same with today.  I ordered the Phantom 4 9 days after launch, from Apple, and I'll have it in my hands in a couple hours.  It's also already available for pickup now in every Apple store in New York.

Bottom line - if saving taxes is your priority, by all means, order from DJI, but just be prepared to wait.  If you want your new toy the second it's available, get them from the top dealers who always have them on release day.  In today's case with the Phantom 4, that's Apple.

Ugg.   I needed that advice back on March 3rd when I ordered.  Figured I'd give my business directly to DJI and cut out the middle man.  This probably won't be my last DJI product, and in the long run the exact date I get it isn't a huge deal, but likely this will be the last time I order directly from them.

I've followed the forums over the last week for any tidbit of information on when I might actually get the drone (hopefully in time for an upcoming vacation).  I've seen DJI reps give dates for expected shipping all over the board.  I've seen statements about when we should expect the APP to update that turned out not to be true.  

We've all been through iPhone releases, and know that a date of release for those doesn't mean that you wait to ship until that day.  It means they are timed to arrive at the homes on that day, and available in store at same time.  That's the case whether you order from Apple, Verizon or ATT.  They're all coordinated.  I assumed DJI worked that way, but looking at the posts by forum moderators, they don't seem to have the same understanding.

Anxious customers + inconsistent communication/information = frustrated customers.  I'll let DJI worry about making good drones, and in the future let a 3rd party get their cut to do what they do best - accurate communication and prompt distribution.

PS: Still stuck at "Pending".  GRRRRRRRRR-

Yep, you hit the nail on the head.  DJI is great at making the drones.  They suck major ___ at handling their online store, communication, and shipping dates.

That's why I've always purchased my DJI products from a dealer and I haven't been let down yet.

And I gotta run, Fedex just delivered the Phantom 4!  Time to go play!

Heeeyyyy.  I just found out that if you click the word "Pending" on your order status page, it will immediately change to "Shipped" and the FeDEX tracking number will fill in!!!

Holly smoke!  Just got notice today that my order has shipped! The tracking number is not registered yet so I guess it will be a while to get here from China. I really didnt expect to see it until sometime next month. The local dealer says they wont have any to sell until April.
