I just installed the latest firmware update for my Inspire Pro (Inspire 1 Pro Firmware v1.4.0.70) and when I played back the footage it kept on skipping, like I was pressing a pause button every 2 seconds. The focus was all out as well and it didnt say that I had to recalibrate the camera.

Thanks DJI now I have to down grade the firmware back to Inspire 1 Pro Firmware v1.3.0.60



I know it will take DJI months to sort this issue out, but I have to say something because I have had enough of this, and Im very fustrated!


Its well know that DJI releases firmware upgrades that make the Inspire worse, not better! They dont do enough testing before releasing the upgrades and its going to cost me about $50 to reshoot it.


Will DJI credit me with this $50 seen as they are responsible?

i would recommend to do imu calibration

have you played it on a different computer ?

It may just be a data flow issue.

I have found the program VLC to be a pretty good player on more difficult files......its free, download it and give it a go.

Was your playback on the mobile device or from the SD Card on a local MAC/PC?
Were you in Auto or Manual Focus?
What were your camera settings for the filming session?

Were you shooting in 4k, if so then your computer is probably not up to the task.
And before every shoot (especially if your doing it for profit) you should focus the camera.
And no DJI is not going to give you $50.I'm sorry when when you got home and played back you realiszed the focus was off.

Im not worried about the focus. Thats not the issue. I sorted that out on site.

Geez mate such hostility, you are from the land of the long white cloud......you should be calm , lighten up mate
The trouble is, we are all guilty , me included of taking the risk of running new Tech, be it Firmware or Hardware and hoping the Tech will sort out all problems........I have found it always a benefit to never do a firmware upgrade just before  job....always do it at your leisure and that way you have sort out time if needed.
I am sorry you are having problems, and I recon you'll get it sorted, but like me, take it as a lesson learned.
If you want, you can send me a small part of your video file and I am more that willing to run it on my system to see if you have a computer issue or not.....just let me know if I can help.

  You should be able to go back one version at a time. So if you're running v1.6.0.40, then place only the v1.5.0.30 bin file on a clean SD Card and it will roll-back to v1.5.0.30. Batteries don't roll back and now that the RC is updated via the GO App, it too doesn't roll-back.

DJI-Ken, I appreciate your help but its so frustrating when you go to edit something and it didn't come out properly.

I was not shooting in 4K. I was shooting in 1080, the same as I always do. I have never had any issues with playback skipping on my computer. However, I down graded the firmware and my latest video is also skipping. So maybe it is my computer. Why would it do this? I've got loads of free space and a pretty powerful computer? How can I test if its my computer or the original footage.

Sorry for losing my cool, but for what I paid for this I have high expectations,

Shouldn't DJI test it before they release it? They should also tell you exactly what they have changed, like other updates, like iphone.

Well it looks like I need to apologise. I checked the raw footage on my iPad through the DJI GO app. And the frames are not skipping. So sorry my bad.

After I upgraded the firmware all my camera settings were lost. So the camera went to default settings. So DJI-Ken yes it was in 4K!
I feel like an idiot and Im sorry DJI. But I didnt no all my settings would be lost.

Oh well, hopefully somebody reads this and it saves them from making the same mistake as me.

Depends on what video viewer you are using.  Windows video player tends to skip around with my 4K files but VLC is quite smooth.  QuickTime is even worse than the Windows Viewer.

I am assuming that you have the file now sitting on your pic hard drive and not trying to view in from your micro SD card because if not that will be causing issues no doubt.

Hey RBirtles, I upload them from SD card onto the photo viewer on my iMac. I just found out that the format was NTSC not PAL. I was told by the sales person not to use NTSC in NZ.

Should I try and play from the SD card on my computer.

There is a think you can get on the net called "Hightail"
its a file shifting thing......easy as to work.....just put my Email which I will Send you via PM and then choose the file you want to send, and press send....super easy.

just do that and I will do it for you no worries at all !
I will convert it to PAL frame Rates @ HD res so you can use it........and send it back to you via HighTail.......

Oh thanks, I was wondering how to send large files.

I also have problems with video after the latest firmware update,
The firmware update was succesfull, I did al the calibrations include the camera focus.
I was filming in 1080/60 and did not do anything else I normal do.
The video flickers and stutters and it is not a problem of the players I use

I'am going to downgrade (still need to find how to do this because this will be the first time I have to downgrade)

I really don't think its a firmware issue......

When you do a firmware upgrade it sets all the settings back to default......
go into your setting and check everything....its probably shooting 4k at big enough rates that either your computer....and/or mini SD card can't keep up with.
Go in and reset everything back to HD etc and try again...

Ok can you please verify that camera firmware CAN actually be downgraded now as you say.

Please look in your log files on the stick:

Camera FW 1.4.70

Camera Fw 1.3.60

m0100: 01.09.44.99
m0101: 01.09.44.99


What camera fw version does your ligfile say you have now?
