Why does the screen on my iPhone look like a zebra when I'm flying and trying to take pics or video? What am I doing wrong?

Nothing. Try slightly lowering the cameras field of vision using the gimbal knob on the remote. Mine does it to. And I use Android.

Take a pix of the screen to show us what you mean by "zebra".

Why?
Because you have the Over Exposure Warning setting in the app enabled.
Those areas with zebra stripes will be over exposed with the exposure settings you are using.

Hi, would you please provide a screenshot of your app? Did you turn on the Over Exposure Warning setting in the app?

I had the same issue, nobody ever gave me a solid reason for it, so I gave up and had it swapped by Amazon due to faulty image sensor. This was no over exposure warning, it was literally anything white, had distortion and lines through it no matter how bright or dim.

Do you mean flickering zebra lines that are caused by the shadow of your props in the sun? As mentioned, you can lose this from view by lowering the camera angle slightly.

Or do you mean zebra stripes in the bright areas of your app? Like this:

ln this case, you can either turn off your over-exposure warning in the app, or dial down the exposure so it's not so bright.

Yes over exposure warning is on. Here is a link with similar stripes http://www6.pcmag.com/media/images/405967-dji-phantom-3-intelligent-flight-modes.jpg

If you have over-exposure warning on, you can't always get rid of the stripes on bright surfaces, like white vinyl siding in direct sunlight.  If you're in Auto mode best you can do is use the right wheel on top of the controller to adjust exposure the best you can.

Yes, this is the over exposure zebra, it's normal, you can turn it off.
