I saw in some posts to be careful of the camera lens when landing the Phantom Vision 2+.

I have not yet tried this in flight but I found that a spare lens cover (around $3.00) with the front cut off and a Tiffin 25mm UV filter  (B&H Photo - $8.00) epoxied on the front of the cutoff lens cover makes for a light weight method to protect the lens without distortion or compromising the area of view.

The assembly weighs .26 ounce and a quarter coin glued to the back of the camera mount (.22 oz.) balances the gimbal from what I can tell.
Does anyone see any flaws with this plan?

The only flaw I see, is that if you have a 'fly away' - that's more money vanishing.

Hi good idea , since a UV does nothing except protect the lense on a digital camera , have you tried an ND or polarising filter on the Vision+ ?  I would be interested to see the result of one being used , it seems
to improve the Inspire video using the supplied ND filter . cheers

Yes, I thought of that but I first wanted to make sure the 25mm filter was a good fit for the adapted cover - it was less expensive at the time.
If this works I will probably try a ND filter in it's place.
