Hi all,
With Spring approaching, the sun is getting higher in the sky and it is reflecting off the rooves of white buildings near to where I film. Does anyone have any tips for getting the best footage? Is it possible to alter the exposure somehow?

I have the Phantom 3 Advanced. :-)

Thanks,
Matt

You can use the ND filters to reduce the incoming light.

If you go into the settings for the video camera section, it is possible to alter all manner of settings. As some have suggested, you can use a Neutral Density filter on the front of the lens. There are a range of 3 filters available from DJI, and also from other suppliers. But you will need to understand how these are used, and it is too complex a subject for me to go into here. Look under the tutorial section on the front page of this forum for material. You can also set the camera to allow manual control over exposure, using the wheel control on your RC unit. This of course requires you to know what you are doing as well, so DJI provide a display called a histogram to help to set the correct exposure.

Taco RC have a range of ND filters which are very good quality with a free case and gimbal holder (if buying a full set) and they have free postage too.

You can use the ND filters to reduce the incoming light.

ND filters will reduce the incoming light, but will do nothing to adjust exposure.  The camera's auto-exposure will increase the shutter speed to compensate, which is the prime reason to use ND filters for video work.

To adjust exposure you need to either set it manually of adjust exposure compensation in the app or by using the right adjustment wheel on the RC.

That's very helpful, thanks everyone. Does anyone have recommendations for where to order the ND filters (without breaking the bank)? Is it safe to unscrew the gimbal and add a filter, or is it better to just screw the filter on over the top?
