Hi, I am new to all of this and I want to try out the follow me mode, I was just wondering how I set it up and do I need to be holding the remote whilst it is following me?

Yes, the follow me use the GPS of the mobile device to locate and follow. Since it's connected to the remote by USB cable, you need to take the remote with you. Enter F mode, then you can choose follow me. Check the tutorial video in our official website.

No, because if you disconnect the mobile devices there is no possibility for the aircraft to know your position. The communication need the RC and the mobile devices connected.
