Hi,

I just got my P4 today. Have updated all FW, calibrated the IMU's, gimbal and compass. All looks good so far. But, when I connect the P4 to my PC and launch DJI Assistant 2, and goto the 'Calibration' screen - the lower right button 'Start Calibration' is greyd out and the spinner wheel to the left of the button is just, well, spinning.

What is wrong?

I had the same issue too.
Lucky after a firmware upgrade I no longer get the calibration requried and all works ok.

Would still like to get it fixed for any future calibration.

Make sure on PC to run as adminstrator. On Mac you have to make sure that the driver and dmg is installed correctly.

Ken - have latest P4 firmware (0288) - have tried to perform calibration in OSX Assistant after installing the driver and app, but it will fail every time.  Have also tried running Assistant under Windows 10 as Administrator, but cannot select the Calibrate button.  Both with Assistant 2 v1.0.2.  I would like to see this work correctly.  Thanks.

I have the same problem.  I can see firmware update status, but can't do calibration.  How do I see if drivers are installed properly?  I know I installed them.

I am also unable to calibrate using DJI Assistant when connecting my P4. I can start calibration, but once i press start and follow the instructions on screen, it doesnt do anything. I tested this extensively last night.

Use the older assistant software, the new one doesn't seem to allow you to calibrate. It does speak 10 languages at once though if you turn the speakers up.

Just the newer version available for downloading now. I did manage to get it to work; after the initial 'corner' alignment hold quad steady at that position, you then need to chase the blueish rectangle round the screen tilting quad slightly to follow the rectangle (working from memory here )..

I was lucky I had the old versions still here. The new one recognises the p4, but calibrating sensors just makes loads of noise and start button is greyed out, of that's how it was when this version is a first released anyway.

I've one of the latest iMacs sitting in the corner gathering dust, if I need to calibrate again I'll power it up I suppose.

Try a lower screen resolution like 1024. I found on my 4K screen it did not accept such a high resolution.

Yeah, there's something seriously wrong with the latest version of Assistant. I get the multiple voices and a blank screen when I start the calibration.

DJI, can you provide link back to previous version please. I'd like to calibrate my P4...

I have never done this sort of calibration what does it actually do ?, calibrating IMU and gimbal is not enough ? my P4 works perfectly, should I do that Assistant calibration ?

It calibrates the lower and front visual sensors (and I believe, the ultrasonic transducer), which hopefully will help stabilise the aircraft below 10m altitude, and also mean it might not bump into things when moving forward.

I think it would be a good idea to read the manual a couple of times, it can be downloaded from Here. That is also a good bookmark to keep.

Hi
I have Phantom 4
DJI Assistant 2 version 1.8.0
Why do I have to lean aircraft 35 degrees down when the calibration sensor?
When I get straight to the screen image is tilted about 35 degrees and then I have to lean aircraft.
Is it ok?
Thanks
I'm sorry for bad english

Hi
I have Phantom 4
DJI Assistant 2 version 1.8.0

Presumably your screen is slightly tilted ? And you are having to adjust the angle of the aircraft so that the sensor cameras are at a right angle to screen (Orthogonal).

If it is passing calibration then I'm sure all will be fine.

Make sure on PC to run as adminstrator. On Mac you have to make sure that the driver and dmg is installed correctly.

Does not cure the problem

Hi
I have Phantom 4
DJI Assistant 2 version 1.8.0

That is how the sensor calibration is done.
You start the calibration with the aircraft straight and your computer monitor straight, then during the calibration you tilt the aircraft and follow the boxes around the screen and not move the aircraft horizontally or vertically but only tilt it.Here is a tutorial video on sensor calibration.

Make sure you dont use any screen adapters (Like HDMI-DVI or VGA-DVI) and make sure you are running your monitor on a native resolution (Dont upscale). Fixed it for me.

To pass calibration to 100% only what I need aircraft tilted 35 degrees downward.
I was flying after that and I had some problems I guess it's ok.
The only problem I have noticed is that if a problem is if it is in the air less than one meter on the downhill I wish to and have to correct the bat up.

I have the same calibration problem. If I reduce the resolution to FHD, I can calibrate but I have a white calibration screen - there are missing dots. The cameras shown at the bottom left are stopped as if in the first frame after clicking the calibration button. Nothing is happening anymore.
In the second laptop computer I normally go into the calibration and see the calibration dots, I can calibrate but screams with a minimum screen size of 12.5 "and I have 12" so the calibration result goes wrong. When connect to TV 40" via HDMI so the result goes wrong too.
Unfortunately, I had to use 3 PCs at home and it was not until I managed to properly calibrate VPS.

I too have never been able to calibrate VPS using Assistant 2, with my 27" iMac retina display. It won't work on the default 2560x1440, the calibration window is just blank, with red warning "incorrect alignment method.
There is no red box or green displayed. Tried it also on 1600x900 - same result.  Also tried it on external 30" Cinema Display, when I type in 30" it still shows "failed to check screen size"

I don't have access to a PC.

Why won't it work on a 27" iMac?

Apple screen might be too glossy and stray flare hurting the calibration.  Try in a darker area out of any flare.  Might turn down the brightness too.

Why does everybody want to start "messing" with things on a brand new drone right out of the box?
Everything is already factory set and should be working perfectly.  It's asking for trouble.
Just activate it and take to the air.

Yep, my iMac won't display the calibration whatsoever. All I get is a blank white screen. No dots, no squares, nothing. This is incredibly frustrating. On the new iMacs it's not possible to dial down the screen res, either - so we are all stuck. Don\t suppose anyone has a Mac version of the older Assistant???
