Hello, I am interested in the X5R for an upcoming film project that will need a small stabilizer and drone capability. I was wondering because the X5R will have everything I need to get the quality of video I want, does it have the ability to be used more as a cinema camera as well? With the MFT mount, is a metabones and cine lens like a Rokinon able to be mounted on and attached to a tripod/support base with say the motors turned off? Or better yet is there another option to power the sensor without using the Inspire or Osmo while on a tripod/support base?

If the X5R were able to do this it would basically cover all my shooting solutions.

That is unfortunate and I hope future models will have the ability. The only changes I foresee being needed are a 1/4" threaded socket on the X5/X5R unit to mount to a tripod/support base and the option to turn only motors off within the app. An alternate power socket on the unit along with the first ideas mentioned would make these changes much more powerful for a unit's versatility.

Yes, I second the Idea, This camera would be perfect camera for loads of other applications, if you could detached and be powered from an alternative source. Due to its small size I could put the camera virtually any place and even hide it from the audience. It will be a brilliant tool for certain areas of film and documentary making. iUnfourtunatelly its not there and I'm sill stock using the gopros to do that job. So hopefully there will be something comming out soon on the market to fill out that need.
