If you are using Android I don't think the camera update is available yet, right?? And does this mean we can zoom with the original Inspire 1 with the original camera  ZENMUSE X3??  And when we update do we use the Dji go and the sd card loaded with the new firmwear??

   You can download the update for the aircraft now, no problem.  the update will only be for the camera though.  So when you go to the "About " page it will show the same firware 1.6 for the aircraft but the camera will now be 1.7.  also there is an update for the RC which is done through the GO APP 1.5.80.  

The go app is also upgraded to 2.7.0.  As far as the Zoom it is for the X3 as well as phantom series, it can not be used in the 4k setting just FYI.  

Be sure to format the SD card and load the BIN file only to the SD card root directory.  Make sure transmitter is off.  With aircraft OFF insert the SD loaded Firmware into the aircraft and then turn the Aircraft on.  It will take about 20 min.  MAKE SURE TRANSMITTER IS OFF WHEN UPDATING AIRCRAFT

Please read the manual if you have never done an update and watch the Tutorial videos.

I think I have upgraded my inspire 1. it now remembers my gimbal adjustments and I can zoom in x2  on screen but it tell me that my camera is 1.6.00.4+ not 1.7

     I do not understand that + sign either,  I have been told it is OK, but never a concise explanation as to "Why".  When and if I do get an explanation,  i will let you  know.

chpv MEDIA,   I am sorry i had TWO different DJI Reps tell me TWO different  meanings of the + sign.  One said no worries mate, once it gets confirmed on the internet by the servers you are good to go.  BRILLIANT I thought, that is what happened to me.  So I called today and talked to A DJI rep He says " No , you did not download correct , downgrade and start over.  SO i AM pissed.  I will let you know when I hear something more and am very sorry.  I did not pull what I said out of thin air.

Donnie I have just check my aircraft and its telling me the camera is now V 01.07.00.90 so I take it it worked then ?

Yes, apparently the FIRST DJI rep was correct , the servers had to catch up.  Pisses me off though because I felt like an idiot when the other rep told me I needed to le-load.  Wasted 3 hours of my life yesterday.  I cant see how a DJI rep who answers the Phone no less can not have the facts straight.  I am glad it was resolved though.  I went back and told like 5 other forum members what I had heard as fact.  

So we are good for Now.....Amen

Donnie, I had the very same problem as you showing 1.6.0.40+ but after I realized I wasn't logged in dji go app (after update to 2.7.1), once I logged in it showed the correct camera version 1.7.0.90

   Yes, understand thank you , another DJI rep on phone said I did it wrong if I had the + sign.  Oh well, live and learn.

Thanks, I appreciate that.  I come to the Forums to help others and I learn quite a bit on the Way ,  I am a HUGE believer in "The Golden Rule"  .

just got a replacement X3 camera and X5... both are not upgrading at all....i know my way around tech stuff so this is pretty weird..
and suggestions..about to tour Africa..
