I keep asking this question but so far no answer.
If we cannot turn off VPS, how can we fly close to water and make sure it won't do unexpected moves?
My former P3 Pro could do that with the VPS turned off as per forum suggestions.

Anyone has taken P4 over water and close enough (below 10m) to confirm VPS won't play tricks on them?

Not that I can see. I would advise against updating at the moment. People are having frequent issues.

Almost crash my p4 on a real estate job yesterday. Copter was drifting backward pretty fast over water. Please let us turn VPS off on the P4, this will end up badly!

Currently the only way to turn off VPS is to turn off obstacle avoidance as well.
