Take another look at the tutorial video below. Do the C1 and C2 buttons beep, showing success? Double check that you have secured the snap tab connector behind the USB port -> actually, check all three snap connectors that the cable is fully inserted and the snap is pushed down.

The 3 Ribbon cables are a little tricky to get on. May want to just unplug them and reconnect and don't forget to fold down the little clamps on the connectors to secure the connection.  Also I had to upgrade my firmware on controller and drone after I installed mine.

Possibly something pinched since it works with the cover off.
Also, when you connect a monitor you have go to the image transmission setting and enable "Simultaneous image output to app and HDMI"

OH Thanks so you are saying disabled USB or Disabled USB Video ??  It disables USB video yes and Switches to HDMI so you have to turn on but should not disable USB from working with DJI GO app (just the video on screen).  Make sure the board is not flexing when you put the cover on.  Also check there is nothing inside the cover that could be causing a short, not metal or particles. make sure board is securly screwed down so it doesn't move at all.  In the video they don't use any static prevention.  Maybe worth trying original board and make sure the ribbon connectors all still work.

Wait, the difference is the HDMI is unplugged when it works, but plugged in it doesn't work.... Go into the GO App. I think there's a setting to display OSD. I don't have access right now.... Try messing with those settings...

Beat me to it...... ;-)

You said it's not working but you are saying you do not have a HDMI cable. Without a HDMI cable you cannot test a monitor.
But installing the HDMI module will still have the USB output working.
Your phone will only lose picture when you plug in a HDMI cable and monitor, then you enable in the settings like I posted above.

I am having this same problem, I do not currently have a hdmi cable or monitor and installed the hdmi output board then I did not get video on the DJI GO app when the back cover is on (when the back cover is off I get video in the app and everything works.) In both cases I do not get the option for simultaneous output in the HD menu.
Question: Is it necessary for the HDMI monitor to be plugged in to get the menu option? Should this option show up the first time when the board is installed even without a HDMI cable/monitor plugged in?

If this is the case I will have to wait for the monitor.

Is this the problem that you had bojan62?
