I managed to get a set of Phantom 4 prop guards today! I heard that the first batch of these things blocked the obstacle sensing but I wanted to give them a shot anyway.
1.This is what the box looks like.
2.Inside was a bag with one set of guards.
3. I pulled the bag open to get the prop guards
4. All 4 guards look the same to me.
Installing them is super easy.
1. Squeeze the lock
2.Flip up the lock arm
3.Let’s see that again without my hands in the way.
4.There, these plugs in the prop guard mounting point.
5.Flip the Phantom over and push them out. It may take quite a bit of effort since they’re firmly attached.
6.Now slip the arm through the hole.
7.Fold the arm back up and lock it back in place.
8. Do that four times and you’re all set!
Inside DJI GO a warning pops up to say that the vision system is switched off because of the prop guards.
This is what it looks like normally.
This is what it’s like when the guards are on.
Obstacle sensing might not work, but the guard work well enough for me to fly in my garage.
